"Winged Monster" foot.I've been creating the look of a kind of batlike creature in my head, and now I'm giving a go at drawing out parts of its anatomy.
This is a quick doodle of its foot and leg (and talons).
Sorry if it looks terrible. Human anatomy isn't my strong suit, so giving it human arm shaped legs and hand shaped feet was probably a poor choice for me- but I couldn't think of how else it'd stay in trees if it couldn't grip properly.
Each finger has a long, thick talon growing from it to help it better grip onto things. The talons actually grow directly from the bone, so its very difficult for them to break or tear off.
Given that the overall structure of the leg is near exact to that of a human hand and arm, its knee bends backwards. The only major difference is that the legs are extremely long (Legs alone are around 3 1/4 feet in my head. Making up just over half the body. I imagine this creature to be around 6 feet tall)
This thing can walk and run, but its when its flying that you have to worry.
