The next morning, I woke feeling as if a weight had been lifted off of my shoulders, and I spent that day waiting anxiously for BEN to contact me. From there, I spent the next three weeks simply exchanging information with my newfound friend- though I'd never called him my friend out loud. Mainly because I doubted that he felt the same way about me. Our conversations revolved around question and answer- he'd ask me something, I'd answer, then I'd ask him something, and he'd answer. Through this, I learned a lot of things about BEN. For starters, I know that he isn't actually inside my computer- I thought that from the beginning, but I was glad that he confirmed my suspicions. I also found out that he really does look like Link from the Legend of Zelda- and he even has the bleeding black eyes and glowing red pupils. Sure, this is all based on whether or not he's being honest- but I have no real reason to call him a liar. Besides, I'm better off not knowing his real face even if he is lying- considering my fear of people, and the fact that my trust for him stems from my not knowing what he actually looks like.

I've also found out that he's actually a major fan of the Pokemon games- but he's not so obsessed that he actually dreams about them or wears Pokemon themed attire, which is how people online tend to portray him. He also pointed out that he isn't the pervert everyone seems to portray him as- I actually laughed when he pointed that out without my asking him. I think everything people tend to say about him has actually made him a little self-conscious- but I doubt he'll ever admit it. As for his location, I did ask him where he actually was, but he refused to answer. Instead, he told me how he came to physically exist. He started as the spirit of a boy named Ben who was obsessed with Legend of Zelda games- and as his current name suggests, he died by drowning. Somehow, his spirit possessed his Majora's Mask video game- he thinks it was because he never managed to complete the game in his original life. If that's the case, then I kinda feel sorry for him- the poor guy wanted to beat his game so badly that he couldn't pass on. I mean- yeah, not exactly something people dream about happening to them. In any case, after he possessed his game, he was trapped in it for a while, and then someone accidentally uploaded his spirit onto the Internet. From there, he gradually learned how to control his spiritual powers. He went from being a poltergeist to being a computer virus. Somehow, he managed to create a new body- but he said the process was too complex to explain, so he didn't tell me how exactly he managed to do it.

He also told me that he can possess the Internet on a whim, but that he only bothers doing that when he finds someone worth “Messing with”- yeah, I'm pretty sure that's his way of saying someone to drive insane. I'm not stupid, I know he's killed people- or at the very least driven them to suicide. Oh well, I knew who I'd be talking to the day I decided to seek him out, so I don't have the right to try and complain. On a few other notes, I know he likes pizza and cookies, but he hates spaghetti and cake- seems he's as picky as I am when it comes to food. I've also asked about the other Creepypastas, and about whether or not they exist. As it would turn out, some are real, some are fake. The fake ones all seem to be device related- Lost Silver, Glitchy Red, Herobrine- all are non-existent, just a bunch of fan-made stories. BEN is the only Creepypasta that even has anything to do with games or the online world- I actually have a feeling that the false stories about other online Creepypastas might be pissing him off. As for the other Creepypasta characters, such as Jeff the Killer, Laughing Jack, or Eyeless Jack- they exist. Laughing Jill on the other hand- well, according to BEN, she's just the genderbent version of Laughing Jack. I didn't ask much more about the other Creepypastas though- I started to get the feeling that it bothered BEN, so I stopped before I could develop to much interest.

On to what I told BEN in return for everything he told me- which was basically anything that couldn't be discovered by looking into my medical records, school records, and anything accessible through the use of a computer. We dwelt further into my affection for Mai- how I care for her and how I socialize with her. I think he's taken an interest in snakes- or at the very least, he's interested in the one I own. He asked me to explain why my great-grandmother had it willed that I could only obtain my inheritance if I had laser hair removal- that was a fun topic. Basically, I explained that since I had MRSA, which is a flesh eating disease that is immune to antibiotics, I was afraid to shave. The topic grew more complex from there- I had to explain that MRSA something that can't be cured, and that it tends to lie dormant in the body between infections. Long story short, the laser hair removal was my great-grandmother's way of getting me past that fear. I'm virtually hairless save for the hair on my head and eyebrows- everything else was removed because that's how my great-grandmother willed it. Very awkward conversation- very awkward. After that, most of what he asked regarded personal preferences such as food and music- which are things that I've never given anyone access to. I explained that when it comes to food, I'm very picky but at the same time, I have very exotic tastes.

For example, I don't eat beef products aside from ground beef, and I don't eat pork products aside from bacon- but I'm willing to eat their internal organs. Heart, Liver, Stomach, Kidneys- I have a taste for what most American's find disgusting. BEN actually made a comment saying that I may be related to Eyeless Jack when I mentioned Kidneys- I'm pretty sure he was joking with me though, so I laughed. I tried to tell him how I go about butchering the goats I'm sent every three months, but he insisted that I drop the subject because he's seen enough “Butcherings” in person to know basics of what I did. Again, I'm sure he used the word “Butchering” as a reference to him being involved in killing people- but I didn't bring that up. I also told him that I have a taste for sweets, and that I actually enjoy cooking at times- that later led to my informing him about my OCD. He was very polite while we discussed anything involving my mental or physical state, and I'm glad about that. When we reached my music preferences, I just cut my losses and gave him an example of what I enjoy- he realized right off the bat why I didn't try to explain. It was simply because my music preference is a tad to complex to explain in words- so we abandoned that matter quickly. That's basically everything I spoke about with BEN during those three weeks- nothing to complex or emotional, just small talk to better get to know each-other. Things aside, come the start of the forth week, things began to change.

BEN: What is your opinion of Jeff the Killer?

That was the posted question that would inevitably send my life into turmoil. Naturally, I answered it without question, and I was as honest as I could be.

Me: I feel sorry for him.

BEN: Really?
BEN: Why? Be specific if you don't mind.

Me: Well, your probably going to think I'm strange for thinking like this, but I sympathies with him.
Me: I was bullied, I was neglected and abused by my mother- I've been through things that have made me question my sanity on a regular basis.
Me: So, what happened to Jeff- him being bullied, him being lit on fire, going insane and murdering his family... Call me strange- I've accepted that particular fact- but I feel sorry for him.

BEN: Yes, but why. Tell me in detail.

I didn't know why BEN was being so insistent on the matter, but at the time I assumed it was because he may have been close friends with the killer. So, I just did what I could to answer him.

Me: Well... Because he regrets it.

BEN: ?

Me: I'm sure you probably know this guy better than I do, so I can only go based off of what I've read about him. Most of what I've read on him has him drowning out his sorrows with alcohol, and having nightmares about what he'd dome to his family.
Me: The memories he has of murdering his parents and his brother- they plague him. He misses his family and wishes for things to be the way they were.
Me: Or, at least that's what all the stories suggest.

BEN: You really are an odd woman.

I'd seen that last statement so many times it actually started to perplex me- it seemed every time he said it, he was about to point out something unique about my character.

Me: What are you referring to this time BEN?

BEN: You've done your research on Jeff. You know that he mutilates people with a butcher knife. He's a deranged sociopath with a love for senseless bloodshed- yet you sympathies with him because he misses his family?

Me: Yes- because it shows that he's suffering. I don't think he wants to be a killer, I think the bullies drove him to it.
Me: I think that if he were able, he would stop murdering people.

BEN: Do you really believe that?

Me: Yes. I've seen in his stories- he does have a sense of mercy, or a code of conduct that he tends to follow. That alone is what leads me to believe that he's not all bad. I'm sure if someone knew how to help him, that he'd let them.

BEN: Remarkable. I wonder how he'd react if I told him.

Me: Oh, so you do know him~ I had a feeling that you did.

BEN: Yes, I know him. We live together actually.

Me: Really?
Me: Do you live with anyone else?

BEN: Actually, I live with everyone. We all live together.

Me: Even Jane?

BEN: Yes.

Me: How does that work? Isn't Jane out to kill Jeff?
Me: Hold it! I thought she was dead?

BEN: Yes- Jane wants Jeff dead, and yes, Jane was dead.
BEN: Creepypastas die, but we do not remain dead.

Me: Oh. Well, I suppose that explains a few things.
Me: But, now that I've remembered Jane, I have another question.

BEN: Go for it.

Me: What happened to the baby?

BEN: Baby? What baby?

Me: The baby Jane died giving birth to. The one everyone claims was fathered by Jeff.

BEN: Oh, THAT baby...
BEN: I'll answer you, but not just yet.
BEN: What do you think happened to it?

Me: Well, for starters, I don't think Jeff killed it.

BEN: Why is that?

Me: Two reasons. First off, he's had opportunities to kill babies before, and he hasn't- he has enough mercy in him to let a baby live.
Me: Second, he misses his family. The baby was his- he fathered it. That made the baby his family. I don't think he would have been willing to plague his mind further by killing another of his blood.

BEN: Alright then, it seems you've made fair judgment in those regards.BEN: Then what happened to the baby in your opinion?

Me: Well... I've had two ideas, but since we've been discussing what happened to the baby, I think one of them is dead wrong.

BEN: Tell me anyway.

Me: Well, my first idea, the one I'm pretty sure is wrong, has been that Jeff took the baby in and at least ATTEMPTED to raise it on his own.
Me: The other is that Jeff found a suitable family, or maybe a foster home, to care for his child.

BEN: Both are good thoughts- the latter of the two happens to be the more accurate.
BEN: He found a family to raise his child, but he didn't put much thought into it. He just ditched the kid on the doorstep of the first house he came across. Didn't put much thought into it.

Me: Oh... Well, I guess I shouldn't feel so surprised... But, in the end the only one who really knows how it went is Jeff, isn't it? We don't know what was going through his mind.

BEN: I don't know whether I think your trying to think positively, or if your trying to convince yourself that theres a chance Jeff actually gives a crap about his kid.

Me: Both. I want to think positive, and I don't want to believe that anyone could wholeheartedly abandon their own child.

BEN: You might be a little to honest for your own good.
BEN: But I suppose that's what makes speaking with you so entertaining. I never really know what to expect from you.

Me: Thanks?...
Me: So, do you know what's become of the baby since then? Or does no one care?

BEN: Oh, I've been keeping tabs on her for the past 7 years.

My eyes nearly bulged out of my head when I read BEN's comment- and just like that, a million and a half questions flew into my mind.

Me: “Her”? As in the baby was a girl?

BEN: Yes, she's a girl.
BEN: Her name is Hope Owen. Apparently the family that Jeff left her with had been wanting a child for years, but the wife was sterile. Hence, her first name.

Me: Wait, she's 7?
Me: Just how old IS Jeff?

BEN: Well, let's see... He's about two years older than you- born in 1990. So, that makes him 24.

Me: So, that means he was only 17 when he got Jane pregnant?

BEN: Actually he hadn't turned 17 yet, but yeah.

Me: That means that he became a killer in, 2003?

BEN: That is correct.
BEN: He and his twin brother Liu were born in 1990. In 2003, he lost his sanity and started his life as a killer. In 2007 he got his nemesis Jane the killer pregnant.
BEN: Nothing major has happened since then.

Me: Wow... Never thought I'd find out THIS much on the first Creepypasta I came across.

BEN: Actually, now I'm curious. How exactly DID you stumble across all of this?
BEN: I mean, how did you come across Creepypasta?
BEN: You aren't exactly the type to look into trends- in fact, according to all of your search history, you hadn't even been looking into us for more than a two and a half months before you downloaded my files off of my origin story.

Me: Wait, you've seen my search history, can't you find that out yourself?

BEN: I can, but I'm having trouble. Sorting through data takes time. All I've managed to locate is the first Creepypasta oriented video that you watched- it was sent to you by your friend Patric- you know him as orangeb@ll-131 .

Me: Actually, that's where it started.

BEN: ?
BEN: Explain.

Me: After I watched the video, I wanted to know who “Jeff the Killer” was, because I'd never heard of him- and everything mentioned in the video confused me. So, I started looking into him.
Me: I started by watching a few more videos- all made by whoever made the first one. After that, I just looked up any video with him in it- and I found a music video featuring him, and a bunch of other Creepypastas.
Me: From there, I basically started to look into Creepypasta in general. I read the stories of Jeff and Jane the Killer(s), then started looking into the others that caught my interest- as in Laughing Jack, and you.
Me: I liked your story right away, and I couldn't stop myself from believing that you were real, and, that's basically how we came to meet.

BEN: Hmm... Your a spontaneous woman aren't you?

Me: No denying that ^^

BEN: Well, now that I've heard how you developed an interest in Creepypasta, I want to know your opinions on all of us.

Me: I don't mind~ This is fun~

BEN: Well then, might I ask your view on Laughing Jack?

Me: Sure
Me: Well, I've actually got mixed feelings for him.

BEN: Explain.

Me: Well, I don't like clowns- never have. So, his story actually scared me- and obviously I'm afraid of him. At the same time though, I kinda feel bad for him.
Me: Its the same story as with Jeff- Laughing Jack didn't want to become a killer. I mean, the poor guy spent over a decade trapped inside a box waiting for his friend to come home and set him free- so I can't blame him for going a little nuts.
Me: If anything, I blame Isac for what happened to Laughing Jack- their minds WERE linked after all. Everything Isac liked, the clown had to like- he couldn't help it. So, when the kid went nuts and started to mutilate people for fun, it was inevitable that it would have a massive effect on Laughing Jack.
Me: So, even though I'd be terrified of him if he was to ever come after me, I wouldn't be able to blame him for killing me.

BEN: That's a unique way of thinking.
BEN: Hold on for a moment.

Me: Alright.

I waited for about twenty minutes before it became apparent that BEN might be gone for a while, so I took my laptop of the counter and brought it into the kitchen with me. Since I didn't know how long BEN was going to be gone, I didn't want to risk leaving him hanging while I was making myself something to eat. I checked the clock- it was about fifteen minutes to midnight- maybe BEN wouldn't get back on tonight. I laughed a little at my thought- he wouldn't have told me to wait only to leave me- so I'd just stay up until he got back on. In the meantime, I was in the mood for sweet and savory. I pulled some chicken out of the fridge, and grabbed a bag of boil ready rice. I got the rice boiling and cut the chicken into small cubes. I make my special marinade- which consisted of terriaki sauce, garlic and onion powder, pepper, and steak seasoning- and I poured it in the pan to let the chicken simmer in it. I checked my laptop- no signs of BEN yet- I went back to cooking. The rice was done, I took it off the burner and drained it, then I cut the bag and poured the rice into a bowl to let it cool. I finished cooking the chicken, and put it on a plate. I cleaned the frying pan, then put a little butter in it, and I put the rice in the pan to fry it. I retrieved a bottle of stir fry sauce, and mixed some into the rice, then I sprinkled some sugar over it while it cooked. When that was done I put it on the plate next to the chicken, and I checked my laptop again- still no signs of BEN- I retrieved some dressings from the fridge. Ranch, ketchup, mustard- I mixed them in a small bowl to create a sauce I liked with chicken.

I checked my laptop again- no BEN- I took everything to the kitchen table and started eating. What I called a table was actually more of a small, wooden trunk. It was only two feet tall and it wasn't even long enough for me to lay on- but since I lived alone, it was enough of a table for me. About halfway through my meal I checked the time- it was nearly one o'clock- I was starting to get lonely. I dropped what I was doing for a moment and walked into the living-room to get Mai, and once I had her wrapped snugly around me, I went back to the kitchen to eat. When I started getting full, I randomly decided to try feeding Mai off my fork- she wouldn't eat anything, but it was still fun watching her try to spit rice out of her mouth. Eventually I stopped being mean and cleaned her mouth out with a damp cloth, then I put her on the ground to let her explore while I went to clean the dishes. I washed everything quickly, then I went back to get my laptop so that I could go back to the living-room- that was when BEN got back on.

BEN: I'm back.
BEN: Sorry it took so long Fae.

Me: Its alright, I took the opportunity to eat while I waited.
Me: But, do you mind if I ask what took you so long?

BEN: Well, a few members of the household decided to spy on me.
BEN: To be quick, everyone in the house knows I've been talking to you all this time, and, people are starting to make a fuss.

As soon as I read BEN's comment I felt a chill run up my spine. For him to have been gone that long- people were making a fuss- that couldn't be good. So many questions popped into my head that I couldn't keep track of them.

Me: Are you okay? Did something bad happen? Are we not gonna be able to talk anymore?

BEN: Calm down Fae, I'm fine.
BEN: Nothing happened, nothing violent anyways- I just had to have a nice long chat with everyone about you.
BEN: Don't worry, we can still talk.

Me: Oh good, I'm glad your alright, and that we'll still be able to talk.
Me: But I'm still worried- is something going to happen to me now?

BEN: Well, yes and no. Stuff happened, things were said. A lot of people want to talk to you.

Me: Oh, is that all? I thought I might be kidnapped.
Me: But if its just talking, I don't mind. Man my hearts pounding, I was really scared for a second there.
Me: When will they be getting online?

BEN: I, don't know. We're, going to dwell more into this tomorrow.
BEN: Listen, its late, and you've been up way to long. You should get some sleep, I'll talk to you tomorrow.
BEN: Goodnight Fae. Sleep well.

Me: Alright BEN, night.

With that, I closed my laptop and quickly got ready for bed. Had I known how drastically my life was going to change from that point onward, I never would have slept as well as I did.

Oh my gosh, that's so good~!!

But you kinda killed my hopes when you said that Jeff's kid was 7 years old, I thought Fae WAS Jeff's kid

But this is awesome and well written, a typo here and there, but nothing that detracted from the over all story and mood~ I can't wait for the next chapter, something tells me LJ and the others are gonna take Fae waaaaaay out of her comfort zone~
