Description Colored version of Duskfall, the Nightstalker dragon.
In case people are curious, every dragon I've drawn is the result of a desire for a viking/dragon trainer based world for me to dump a bunch of OC's into for fun (I think WAY to far into it).

Current into on the Nightstalker:

A black bodied dragon that hunts primarily at night, using its glowing markings to confuse people and potential prey. The various markings make it appear to be a small group of dragons traveling in a flock, making it less likely to be followed and attack. Onlookers may see it, and think it a small flurry of shooting stars - until they notice the changes in movement.
Females are larger than males, and sport purple markings, membranes, and other such decorations. Males are smaller, while all of their markings and the like are a shade of blue. No matter the gender, the markings glow, and tend to pulsate with the stored electrical energy that winds up being used as an attack and defense mechanism.

This species makes its home in rocky, hard to climb terrain such as mountaintops and cliffs. Males build nests and decorate them with shiny stones in hopes of attracting potential mates. Both parents carefully guard and look after young until they are ready to venture off on their own. A typical clutch consists of 5-7 eggs, with a 65% success rate when it comes to hatching. Newly hatched Nightstalkers bear no marking, claws, or horns - but will begin to develop their coloration and accessories over a six week period. Wings are relatively useless until the hatchlings are four months of age, and by a year they are ready to survive on their own.

The diet of this dragon consists of moderately sized birds (Crows, ravens, hawks, etc), fish and other aquatic life, and small to moderately sized land animals such as raccoons or young goats and sheep. This species does not hibernate, but will become extremely stiff if exposed to cold for too long. To prevent this stiffness, they live off of saved bones during colder days, and will heat stones to provide extra heat.

Nightstalkers are ambush predators, preferring to strike unknowing prey. The markings are to ensure confusion if they happen to be spotted.
