Background: Born and raised in the countryside, Shiftus grew up around wild Pokemon - and captive born Eevees. Having only ever had a few close encounters with danger, Shiftus seems to have developed a sixth sense in terms of avoiding dangerous situations.
She and her family worked as Eevee breeders, who would donate the adorable Pokemon to nearby towns so that children could gain early-on experience. Some Eevees were kept and trained to later be sold to older, more experienced trainers. This background is how the young woman came into contact with her Pokemon partner, Pixie. The first shiny to hatch in over five years, the family was reluctant to donate or sell the uniquely colored being. Especially after finding that Shiftus and the shiny Eevee had developed a strong emotional attachment to one another.
As such, the woman was allowed to keep the small Pokemon. She went on to battle it against the other Eevees that her family planned on donating to nearby towns - until they were strong enough to be sent away. Shiftus and an uncle ventured to Pokopolis to donate the two-dozen, partially trained Eevees, only for the woman to decide that she was interested in experiencing city life. As such, she managed to move to the area within a year.
