Description A loud scream peirces the silence of main street, as a terrified man runs for his life down the empty streets of New York. Behind, two cloaked creatures pursue him, sadictic smiles filled with blood lust plastered onto their pale faces. One of the two figures ghosted up the side of a building; leaping across the rooftops in an animalistic way. The other figure joged lazily behind, allowing its companion to cut off their preys path. The panicked man took a moments glance behind, and the creature that had been running atop the houses took its chance to cut off the mans path. Another scream escapes the mans mouth as he attempts to get away from the monster in front of him, he turned abruptly to go back the way he had come; runing into the syth of his forgotten pursuer. As the mans last breath was released from his lips, the masked figure holding the syth backed away; the body of the dead man collapsing onto the pavement. "Sarah, you ruined my fun again!" Said a feminen voice, pulling down the hood that covered her head to reveal long ember colored hair. "I'm sorry Mariah! I'll try not to cut them off next time!" Said the creature called Sarah, as she stood full hight to walk twoards the dead mans body. "This is the last one for today Mariah, my canester can't hold anymore souls." Sarah stated, leaning over and placeing her clawed hand over the mans mouth; extracting the grayish mist that was the  mans soul.
"Pity, they don't come in the ebony color that we need anymore. With the increase in human population we could use more soul stealers!" Sarah hufted as she put the soul into her flower vase shaped canester, spinning its contents around next to her wolf like ear; listening to the sloshing sound that was made. "Come along Sarah, it's time we got back home." Mariah said as she turned to walk away, Sarah once again creeping along the shadows to hide from the sight of any late night walkers; Mariah pulled her hood back over her head. Sarah led the way, running ahead a mile of so then stoping and waiting for Mariah to catch up; allways keep to her slow pace. They continued the process six times, traveling a total of twelve miles before they reached a slightly raised area of grasslands. Mariah took a step forwards and said an incantation. "Open to me! Great gate that leads to the endless abyss, grant us passage into the realm of fire! Open to us the Gate of Hell!" Mariah finnished off the incantation by smashing the blade of her syth into the side of the hill, a steady stream of fire following emidiately afterwards. Sarah giggled lightly and said the final verse of the incantation. "Oh mighty flames that consume our lands! Die away and allow us to enter your domain!" Sarah let out a loud groan after she finnished and threw her hands into the air, head falling backwards as a crased laugh was released from her mouth.
The fire died away slowly, revealing a narrow passage; both Mariah and Sarah walked inside and the opening sealed behind them imediately. Mariah pulled down her hood once again as she and Sarah came to a boat, their freind waiting for their arrival. "What took you so long?! I have a life to you know!" A cape wearing woman asked, her fox like ears twiching with anoyance as her companions boarded the boat. "Sure you do Lauren." Sarah said sarcastialy as she took a seat near the edge of the boat. "Last time I cheked you couldn't even take a step off of this boat, at least not without bursting into flames afterwards." Mariah remarked, pulling her skull like mask off of her face. "Oh, and like your punishment is any different. You can't eat any form of vegitation outside of Hell Sarah, and you Mariah cant touch water. So me d=being stuck on a boat is nothing compared to the two of you!" Lauren growled as she placed her pitchfork into the glowing water. "Man, the more souls the two of you bring down here the harder it gets to move this boat!" Lauren groaned; a wicked smile spreading across Sarah's face as she pulled her soul canester off of the rope she had tied around her waist. "Sarah...What do you think your doing!" Lauren hissed as Sarah held the eanester over the edge of the boat, fliping it upside down and allowing the contence to fall into the River of Souls. "I'm gonna kill you!" Lauren screeched as she lept twoards Sarah.
Sarah stood up and jumped over Lauren's head, falling right into the River of Souls with a loud spash. "Sarah!" Mariah shouted as she ran over to the boats edge, searching through the water for her companion. "Sarah! Sarah!" Lauren yelled along side Mariah, leaning over the boats edge. While her friends called for her Sarah swam under the boat around to the other side, surfaceing with a smile and climbing back into the boat silently. Sarah crept up behind Mariah and taped her on the sholder, covering Mariah's mouth with her hand and placeing a finger to her own lips; Mariah smirked and nodded her head. Sarah walked behind Lauren who was still calling for her. Sarah smiled evily, placeing her hands on Laurens sholders and shoveing her forward yelling "Save you life!" as Lauren nearly topled into the water. Mariah burst into laughter as Lauren regained her composiure, fixing her black shirt and pulling off her hooded cape. "I hate you so much right now..." Lauren grumbled, walking to the front of the boat so that she could set a coarse on the right direction. Sarah chuckled lightly as she moved so that she was standing behind Lauren, huging her tightly as she said a simple "I'm sorry Lauren.". The boat remained silent for the rest of the trip, and when they reached their destination Sarah and Mariah both limed out of the boat, waveing goodbye to Lauren as she sailed back in the direction they had come.
"She takes things way to seriously!" Sarah laughed as she and Mariah sat down in the orange colored grass; rolling onto their sides as they watched ruby-red dragons fly through the air. Both Mariah and Sarah let out a content sigh as they drifted into a peacfull sleep; awakening after only an hour of dreaming to the sound of a dragon roaring. Sarah groaned as she sat up, rubing at her eye's while Mariah stood up to investigate the problem. "What's wrong now?" Sarah said yawning as she stood, still trying to become fully awake. "I don't know...That dragon over there looks like its in pain." Mariah said, pointing a finger to the dragon that was hunched over on the ground only a few yards away. Sarah, seeing the dragon hunched over started to run twoards the animal imediately; Mariah following shortly after in ored to see what was wrong. Once they had made it down to where the dragon was standing, Sarah started to look the creature over; runing her hands gently down the beasts sides and along it's ribcage in search of a problem. "I found it!" Sarah yelled to Mariah who hurried to her friends side, seeing that Sarah's hand was right over the dragons third rib on the left side. "He has a bruise on his bone." Sarah mummbled as she began to pick various types of grasses, cruching the strands in her palms useing her thumb.
"Can you hold his head back for me please?" Sarah asked Mariah as she untied the knife that was straped to her waist, cutting into the dragons side as lifting the muscule away from the bone. The dragon let out a feirce roar and attempted to turn its heavy head to eat Sarah, but Mariah's iron grip kept it's head in place. Sarah, ignoring the dragons shreik of pain, sliped her hand into the dragons wound; griping the bruised rip gently as she rubed the crushed grass onto the bone. Sarah sighed as she pulled her hand out of the dragon, walking over to Mariah who let go of the beasts head. "Well. That should do-iiiiiiiiiiiiiit!" Sarah started to speak but found herself being lifted off of the ground by one of the dragons large feet, metalic claws cutting into her sides as the grip around her waist tightened. "Let go!" Sarah groaned as she tryed to pull herself out of the dragons grip, cutting her palms on the dragons sharp scales. The dragon lifted Sarah up to its face, razor sharp fangs glistening in the orange light of hell's sun; Mariah made an attempt to slice the dragons leg, hopeing for it to release her friend. "Sarah! Hold on I'll go get help!" Mariah shouted as she turned to run twoards her home in the mountain. Opon entering the home of her master she shouted "Jasmin quick! Sarah's in trouble! Hurry! Get-get Brea!" Mariah shreeked worriedly before she turned to lead Jasmin and Brea down to were the dragon was.
The sight that the three of them came across shocked them. Sarah and the dragon were still in the spot that Mariah had left them in, but the dragon was laying on its back, all four legs sticking up in the air, as Sarah sctached its belly. "You called me out here to see this?" Brea asked as she pointed a finger at Sarah, who's hands were working there spell on the dragon as she scrached the creatures scaley belly. Mariah's eye's twiched as she rubbed her temples. "May I ask how you managed to make the dragon roll over onto its back and let you scratch its belly?" Mariah muttered as she walked up to her friend. "I'm just good with animals I guess." Sarah laughed, jumping off of the dragons stomoch. Mariah rolled her eyes and griped her friends arm, draging her away from the smiling dragon and to their home. "From now on Sarah...Keep your spider out of my room. He ate my pet mouse." Mariah grummbled moveing a large cage out of her room and into her closet. "He's not a spider. Hes a tarantula." Sarah said smirking, watching her friend sigh with annoyance. "Spider, tatantula. Same thing!" Mariah snaped, pulling the covers off of her bed and climbing under them; falling asleep quickly. Sarah chuckled under her breath and fixed Mariah's covers, turning out the light as she lay herself down on the floor to go the sleep.
Mariah awoke six hours later, and being lazy she simply rolled onto her side and looked down to the floor; Sarah still slept curled up like a small animal in the cold. A smile crept onto Mariah's face as she watched her friend sleep, amused at how innocent she appeared to be while reasting. Sarah's wolf like ear twiched slightly in her sleep, and she rolled onto her side; shirt riding up her abdomen exposeing her stomoch. Mariah reached her arm down and poked Sarah in the side, laughing when she jumped up with an animal like yipe. "Mariah! You know I don't like that!" Sarah whimpered, curling into a ball and covering her sides with her arms to keep Mariah from tickleing her. "Your such a crybaby!" Mariah chuckled as she climed out of bed streaching with a yawn. "C'mon. Its time to eat." Mariah muttered walking out the door;Sarah followed shortly after with a small box under her arm as she trotted up to her friends side. "Mariah." Sarah said as she stoped, holding out the small box in both her hands. "Happy birthday!" Sarah giggled, puting the box into Mariahs waiting hands. Mariah opened the box quickly and pulled out the item that was placed inside. "Sarah...This is..." Mariah gasped, gripping the edge of the bone that Sarah had taken the time to carve with her knife. "Yeah, its a skull-face mask. I figured it would b fun to wear while out hunting." Sarah chuckled, taking the mask in her hands and helping Mariah put it on gleefuly.
