Description  Three men of separate races, working as one unit- traveling besides each other as brothers. Three people of unique backgrounds, or separate bloodlines. They wander aimlessly through the wood- through a forest that grew seemingly overnight without cause. The trio were hopelessly lost and without a means of escaping the new forest. Their maps were of no use- the paths had disappeared. There were no distinct landmarks in sight- nothing available to give them an idea as to where they were. Two of the three seemed to be growing irritated with their current situation; the only of the trio who remained in a chipper mood was the one with tails. Two tails to be specific- this particular male was a Kitsune; a fox type member of a race known as the Kitarie. This particular Kitsune's most admirable features were his childish face, his messy white hair, and his dazzling purple eyes. His fox-like ears and tails were an odd shade of orange-brown. His body was thin, but athletic- he seemed to be in the prime of his health. He was currently racing between the trees like an excited child as an attempt at lightening the dark mood that had befallen his companions- but all he was managing to do was piss them off. Granted, one of the men was better at concealing his rage than the other. This more composed male was a human of Asian background- half of his bloodline hailed from Asia. No one knows which of his parents were Asian.

The Asian man, much like the Kitsune, had white hair- only his hair was a much purer shade of white. More pure than a fresh blanket of snow. However, his hair color was the only aspect of his features that was even remotely similar to that of the fox boy. The Asian man's eyes were a vibrant shade of orange, which was a rare sight as far as humans went- but he wasn't quite human anymore. That, however, is something to be revealed at a later time. As for his physique, he was without a doubt the best built of the tree males. Then there was the third member of the group. This final member was a Half-elf, and possibly the last of his kind. Why Half-elves are otherwise extinct, is another matter. He shares no physical similarities with the other two men. His hair is a very distinct shade of brown, his eyes a breathtaking shade of blue; a shade that puts the glaciers of the north to shame. He openly wears a kuni shaped earing, and while his physique is similar to that of the Kitsune, his strength is displayed in more refined manor. In fact, his appearance was the most regal of the group. Three distinct people, all unique in appearance and personality. All alone in the world, and yet at ease with their companions constant company. They were three brothers- not of blood but of spirit. When at last the Asian man tired of watching the Kitsune run wildly about, he extended an arm and caught the younger male around the chest, then held him securely while he continued to skim the map he had been examining.

As expected, the fox had no urge to remain still.

“Hey, no fair Artemis! Let me go!” The Kitsune laughed childishly as he squirmed in his captors grasp. The Asian male, known as Artemis, held his stoic expression and tightened his grasp on the fox.

“Be still, Shigematsu, we've had enough of your childish antics...” Artemis said calmly as he continued to restrain the fox boy, who was apparently known as Shigematsu, before he removed his eyes from the map he held in his free hand. Then he sighed.
“Not a single landmark...Perfect...” He said tiredly, before he turned to address the Half-elf.
“Is it possible to burn an entire forest to the ground without killing us, Usai?” He asked blandly. An onlooker would have been unable to tell whether of not the male was being serious. He was.

“Afraid not...” The Half-elf, otherwise known as Usai, said with a slight note of humor as he watched the Asian man restrain the Kitsune.
“This forest was grown through the use of powerful magic, and its still growing. If Shige or I try to burn it down before the magic wears off, it'll just grow right back.” He said calmly; he was standing in front of one of the new trees with his hand pressed firmly against its trunk, so that he could examine the powerful energies rushing though it. Artemis sighed again and released his hold on the Kitsune, who immediately resumed his sprinting session.

“Can you determine how long it will be before the magic dissipates?” Artemis asked tiredly; he was seriously considering tying up the overly energetic fox, but after a moments thought he settled on catching Shigematsu again. This time, he pulled the Kitsune flush against his side to keep him still, and he covered his mouth to keep him quiet.

“I've been trying to do that since we woke up, but I'm having trouble. This magic is, unknown to me...” Usai said hesitantly while he removed his hand from the surface of the tree.
“The magic flowing though these trees is unlike that of any elemental magic I've ever come across, its, unique.” He said as he walked away from the tree to stand in front of a small bush; he ran his hands through its leaves tenderly. Artemis gave the Half-elf an odd look.

“What do you mean unique?” Artemis asked while tightening his hold on Shigematsu; the fox was currently trying to squirm out of his grasp. The Half-elf lifted his hand out of the bush.

“Well, its aura is, off. Most growth inducing magic's aura is either a shade of green or blue- but the aura here is, silver.” Usai said slowly.
“I've never encountered anything like this...” He added before walking away from the magically grown plants all together, ruffling the Kitsune's hair playfully once he was near enough to his companions.
“But we'd better not dwell to far into it. If its really something we should be concerned about, then it'll come back to nip us in the bud sooner or later.” He said with a playful smile; Shigematsu was glaring at him for messing up his hair. Artemis, however, was not amused.

“If it is something important than we should deal with it before it poses a threat. We can't just overlook every little thing because of your- are you biting me?” Artemis said blandly. He had been trying to scold Usai for his carefree attitude, but he lost his train of thought when Shigematsu decided to bite the palm of his hand. The little fox had bitten him hard enough to draw blood. Without saying anything, the Asian man released the Kitsune and lifted his wounded hand to his mouth to lap at his blood- Shigematsu made a disgusted face.
“Whats wrong Shige? You look ill. Maybe you should lie down for a little while...” He said slyly; even though the man's face remained stoic, there was a hint of amusement hidden deep within his orange eyes. The fox scuffed angrily at the Asian man's statement as he scurried over to Usai; then he proceeded to hide behind the Half-elf.

“Make him stop Usai! He's grossing me out!” Shigematsu whined, increasing his tone of voice on the word “Out”; he sounded like a spoiled brat. Usai laughed wholeheartedly upon seeing his friends childish behavior, before he strode over to Artemis and set a hand on his shoulder.

“Alright Artemis, you've had your fun! But you'd better stop licking your hand, we don't want Shige getting sick on us. Neither of us have the energy to carry him around the woods.” Usai said with a laugh, though everything he had said was something better off being said in a serious tone. Then, after giving the man a few firm pats on the shoulder, he added one final comment.
“As for our issues with the plants, we really are better off leaving them alone. We know they'll grow right back if anyone tries to get rid of them, but what we don't know is where they'll pop up. Fact is, if I burnt down that tree over there-” He said while pointing towards a tree by a pile of small rocks.
“-its replacement might just spring out of the ground beneath our feet. Now, I don't know about you two, but I'd rather not chance having a Douglas Fir shooting out from under me and impaling me in the arse.” He said seriously, though there was a hint of humor in his tone. Then, he removed his hand from Artemis' shoulder and clapped his hands together loudly.
“Besides, we'll get out of the woods soon enough! We might not know our way out, but the animals do. We'll just follow the mice, they'll lead is towards town. Those little rodents are always looking for an easy food supply.” He said before turning towards the nearby trees and kicking a rock into the bushes.

Sure enough, a couple of mice lept out of the shrubbery in a fright- and Shigematsu immediately started after the slower of the two. Using his natural speed and deadly accurate hand-eye coordination, he ran directly behind the frightened mouse, and deftly snatched it out of the air when it tried to jump away from him. Usai and Artemis watched the scene go down; the Half-elf had a pleased smile plastered on his face. Once he had the mouse in his hand, the Kitsune held it firmly in his grasp, but he kept his hold gentle enough to not hurt the frightened creature. Then, he struggled to lock eyes with the tiny rodent, but as soon as he did, his eyes lit up with magic- as did the eyes of the mouse. The Kitsune held the animal's gaze for a few moments, and then he suddenly opened his hand. Most onlookers would have expected the mouse to jump out of his palm and scurry off. They would have been surprised when the mouse crawled up Shigematsu's arm and sat atop his shoulder instead.

“Hey little guy, mind showing us a way out of the woods?” Shigematsu said gently as he reached up to run his finger along the top of the mouses head. Not a moment later the tiny rodent jumped off of his shoulder and scurried towards a pair of oak trees; it stopped there and waited for the group of men to catch up with it.

“Looks like we have our guide...” Artemis said blandly as he, Usai, and Shigematsu started after the mouse. With luck, the trio would reach the nearest town before they ran out of supplies- but they had no real way of knowing whether or not that would be the case.
