Vekel the dragon is his mount. A female Nobleman with Siamese coloration.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  The blonde sucked in a sharp breath as the creature approached him, its eyes half lidded due to its calm state. He became more stiff and tense as the being came to a stop in front of him. He had no idea how his classmate had managed to tame the creature so easily, but he was definitely doubing his ability to do so. Booksmarts were a blessing and a curse. Everything he had read described this breed as territorial and violent. His instincts were telling him to run, or to make himself seem as small as possible. He flinched when the other male took hold of his wrist. He remained uneasy as his hand was pulled towards the beast's maw. Everything seemed to move in slow motion for him. The other male withdrew their hand from the underside of the dragon's muzzle, only to carefully replace it with his.
  Almost immediately, all sense of drewad was replaced with an usual state of ease. The dragon peered into his eyes calmly, its breathing even, as if it were actually asleep. He remained blissfully unaware of the fact that his breathing pattern had synchronized with that of the dragon. Feeling more confident than before, he began to push his palm along the underside of the Nobleman's jaw, gathering a feel for the texture of its fur. In the back of his mind, he was piecing together the differences between real life experience, and what was described in the books. According to every guide he had read, the Nobleman dragon was covered in thick, coarse quills that could pierce the skin of any man. He has seen the wounds to back up said scripters.
  Yet, going by the feel of the hair that ran along his hand as he moved it, the books were proved wrong. The fur he trailed his fingers though was thick, but soft. The hairs neither cut his skin nor pierced it like a quill, making it highly appealing to his sense of touch. There was no fear. Despite knowing that he was petting a full grown, highly dangerous creature, he felt as if he were handling his pet mouse. There was a mutual calm and sense of trust shared between them. His attention was pulled from the frame of the beast as his classmate - or rather, instructor - appeared to hand him a length of rope. There was a moment of confusion, before he saw that his other companions were creating makeshift saddles from the bundles of fiber.
  Awkwardly, he withdrew his hand from beneath the dragon's maw so that he could clasp the rope with both hands. He remained cautious as he began to measure the creature, looking for the best place to tie the rope. He eventually looped the length of fiber in a fashion that mimicked combat belts. They formed a criss-cross shape, leaving an X plastered on the Nobleman's chest and back. Surprisingly, the creature remained patient and cooperative as he fitted it with its false saddle. What followed was even more of a surprise. As if sensing that they were about to be ridden, the dragon dropped onto their chest, pushing out their wings so that the male could easily climb atop their back. Not knowing how else to respond to those, the blonde hesitantly climbed onto the Nobleman's back and took hold of the ropes.
  All at once, the beast lurched onto its hind legs alone, extending their forelimbs to show off the exact size of their wings. The Nobleman was a wyvern species of dragon. Meaning that it's structure was more akin to that of a bird. Large, muscular chest, which supported the wings. Long, powerful legs that easily supported the weight of the body. The wings of a Nobleman were specially modified to act as both a means of flight, and a means of traveling on all fours. Two claw bearing fingers grew from the main joint of the wing, acting as paws in times of travel. Out of instinct, he recalled all known information on the behavior patterns of the species, and began to piece together a more accurate description. That did little to help him when the dragon abruptly charged towards the open gate.
  The gate that he knew had been closed only a few minutes ago. All of the dragons charged out the gate at once, creating a hectic scene for any who may have been around to see it. Less that half of the village was still on the island. Most of the warrior's had left Akseptere to find the elite dragon that had been using the island as a food resource. A foolish notion, given the size of the beast - or so Eclipse had said. Either way, the idea of such a massive death toll had been more than enough to make the lot of them willing to give working alongside their attackers a go. Hence, he wound up over three-hundred feet in the air, holding on to the rope he had tied to the Nobleman for dear life. He could only imagine the type of hell he was about to walk into.
  The things he was willing to do to protect his home. He really was a Viking...
Thas good~ Soon ima be doing little drabble of their battle tactics.
One is where Sam moves to hang on to the chest area of the saddle, and the dragon rolls into a ball and slams into surrounding enemies. Sam is nestled protectively against the dragon's chest, and will jump out ready to fight once they stop rolling.
