Snakeman-Jack part 2

This was by far the worst dinner of my life. My mother was pissed off at me because I had acted “Disrespectful” towards Leon- we'd actually gotten into a small fight in the kitchen a few minutes before dinner started. I'd claimed that I was uncomfortable around and did not trust Leon- my mother told me that I was being impolite and over-judgmental and said that she wasn't going to tolerate my behavior. She actually gave me a light slap to the face to get her point across, and I'm starting to think that Leon saw it- he wouldn't stop staring at my right cheek. Honestly, I'd been tempted to jump up and throw my plate of mashed potatoes and chicken in his face so that he'd knock it off. The only think that kept me from doing it was knowing that my mother would never let me hear the end of it if I did- she'd probably send me to the weirdo's house to work for him for a day. No way was I about to let that happen.

Then there was my father- as usual, he was completely oblivious to his surroundings. He couldn't tell that mom and I were mad at each-other. He didn't notice that I was extremely uncomfortable sitting next to Leon. He didn't even notice that the creep kept giving me strange looks! Oh, and of course Leon was pissing me off to. Him staring at me all the time was one thing, I could tolerate it- it was that he was doing such a goddamn good job at keeping my parents from noticing that was irritating me. When their eyes weren't on him, his were on me, and vice versa. Then, there was the fact that he kept touching me. I don't mean pervy all out groping my leg under the table touching, I mean light graze against the arm and foot kind of touching. In other words, he was touching me in a way that could be passed off as an accident- but I wasn't that stupid. If it had only happed two or three times, I'd believe that he wasn't doing it on purpose- but he'd touched me every couple of minutes the entire time!

The last time he did it, I cast my eyes in his direction to glare at him- he just gave me that weird look he'd given me in the living room earlier and smirked at me. Thats what creeped me out the most. His eyes scared me- I'd look at him one minute and they'd be brown, a beautiful light shade of copper. Then, in a flash, his eyes would turn gold- a horrible glowing shade of gold. To be honest, the reminded me of snake eyes. Dark. Seductive. Deadly- threatening even. Whenever I caught him giving me a golden eyed glance I felt a surge of terror run down my spine- the hairs on the back of my neck stood on edge. I was pissed off at him, and yet at the same time I was terrified of him.

“So, Sophie...Your, parents tell me you go to the high school across from the mall...” Leon said slowly in an attempt to change the conversation- my parents had a tenancy of discussing politics with their guests. He obviously wasn't someone who cared about that kind of thing- which was another thing that pissed me off, because that meant we agreed on something.

“Yeah, so?” I said in a rude tone, earning a death glare from my mother. I returned the look full force- god I was so pissed at her.

“Well, I plan on working there as pest control. Would you be willing to show me around the-” Leon tried to say, though I jumped up and bolted out of the room as soon as he mentioned wanting me to give him a tour of my school. My mother shouted after me to get my ass back to the table- but I just ignored her and ran upstairs to my room, slammed my door shut. Then I jumped on to my bed and buried my face in my pillow and screamed. God, I was so frustrated! That guy had me on edge- really really on edge! What was pissing me off is that I had no idea why. Was it his color changing eyes? Was it the cocky smirks he kept giving me when our eyes locked and my parents weren't looking? Was it the way that he kept touching me and passing it off as accidental contact? Was it those metal gloves he wore on his hands, or the fact that I didn't believe that the metal was welded to his skin? I had no friggin idea. A knock on my door drew me from my thoughts, but it wasn't unexpected- I knew that my mom was bound to storm up her and give me the verbal assault of a lifetime.

“The doors unlocked...” I said sourly after I lifted my face from my pillow. I turned to watch as my door creaked open, and to my surprise it was Leon who walked into my room, and not my mother.

“I hope I'm not intruding...” Leon said politely as he took a hesitant step into my room- I payed extra attention to his eyes. They were brown at the moment.
“Mind if I take a seat?” He asked once he came a little further into the room, his eyes flicking in the direction of my bed. I sat up properly and glared at him, but like an idiot I gave him a nod of approval. He immediately walked over to me, and sat next to me on my bed- he was a little to close for comfort, as far as I was concerned. The only thing keeping me from trying to scooch away from him, was the wall- like an idiot I'd chosen to sit as close to my wall as humanly possible. Then, to make matters worse, he schooched a little closer to me- he came so close that our arms were touching.
“Pardon my abrupt statement, but I don't think you like me very much. Mind if I ask why?” Leon said with calm voice, his eyes on me- they were still brown.

I sighed and scrunched in my shoulders- I did not like the fact that we were touching. He responded to my actions with a quiet laugh, which only furthered my irritation with him. Then, all at once I figured out why I was so pissed at him- it was his personality. I could tell that he was putting on some facade to get on my parents good side, and he was trying the same moronic technique on me. In an instant I turned to him and shoved my finger in his face.

“Because your a fake, thats why!” I nearly shouted as I shook my finger angrily in his face. He responded by giving me a confused look, even going so far as to tilt his head to the side. I had to give him a thorough explanation of what I meant.
“Your personality is completely bogus! You've been acting insanely polite ever since you got here, but when my parents weren't looking you'd give me these- suggestive glances! And you kept touching me! And your...Eyes?” I unintentionally found myself falling silent when I noticed a change in his expression- his eyes changed again. A split second prior, his eyes had been brown- but he blinked. The instant he re-opened his eyes, they were gold again, but there was more to them than that. They looked, demonic in a sense- like snake eyes or something.

“What...What happened to your eyes?” I asked hesitantly as I unintentionally turned my body to better face him- then next thing I knew I was pinned down to my bed with him looming over me, his demonic eyes boring into mine. He had a disturbing slime plastered on his face.

“So, you've noticed eh? Not bad, it usually takes girls like you a few days to figure me out...” Leon said quietly as he moved one of his hands to cup my chin. Before I could ask him what the fuck he was talking about, he continued.
“Since you've done such a good job at noticing my facade, I'll tell you a little secret...” He said as he dipped his face down to my ear- his breath tickled the side of my neck.
“I don't like people...” He whispered, before he abruptly removed himself from on top of me- though he still peered down at me with those dangerous golden eyes. As soon as I recovered from the unexpected action, I sat up and stared in his direction.

“What...Do you mean by that?” I asked hesitantly, my heart pounding from what had happened. He smirked at me, his eyes taking on a more dangerous appearance- I swear he was doing that on purpose.

“All in good time pet, all in good time...Now, I think its time we discussed the issue regarding your mother...” Leon said with a sly smile- he paused a moment to make sure I was listening.
“Since you've behaved so rudely tonight, your mother expects you to spend all day with me tomorrow. She also said that you'll be expected to do anything I say...” He added after his short pause. I buried my face in my hands and groaned loudly- if my mother honestly thought that I'd be spending an entire day as this creeps lapdog, then she had another thing coming. Or at least, thats what I thought until said creep opened his damn mouth again.
“Oh, and, she also mentioned something about you not being allowed to go to your friends slumber-party on Wednesday if you refuse to cooperate.” He said with what I could only assume was a smug grin- I hadn't exactly been looking at him when he spoke that last time.

That was it- I officially hated my mother. I demonstrated my anger by lying back down on my bed and burying my face in my pillow to scream. I didn't care that Leon was sitting next to me- I didn't care that he could see how immature I was acting. All I cared about was that my mother was slowly but surly ruining my life.

“God, I wish she'd just die...” I muttered against my pillow, my voice barely more than a whisper- but Leon seemed to hear me anyways.

“My, you've got a foul temper...” Leon said with a chuckle as he rose from my bed and approached my bedroom door- I turned my head enough to watch him as he left. He paused a moment before opening the door, to turn and look at me.
“Oh, and Sophie- be careful what you wish for...” He said with a cruel grin- his eyes literally started to glow the moment those words passed his lips. Then, he turned and walked out my bedroom door, closing it behind him. This left me to determine whether or not he was messing with me, or if he was threatening my parents...
