The soft clip clop of hoofs on a wooden floor shattered the silence of the night- and yet, none in the house were roused from their slumber. The sound was too quiet, too gentle, to disturb even the lightest of sleepers. The sound moved throughout the house in a slow, relaxed manner. Through the kitchen, where the doggy door resided- where the cause of the sound had found its way into the house. In the living-room, where the creature spent some time sniffing around and inspecting the couches, armchairs, and even the coffee table that were housed there. Down the hall, were a number of family photographs and portraits were hung- though they were all placed too high for the creature to see. Room after room. The creature entered them one by one, as if were searching for something. The only sound it making as it came and went being the clip clop of its hoofs on the wooden floor of the hall. The vacant spare bedroom. The room of a teenage boy- an older brother- also vacant, but just for the night. The parents bedroom- it crept in and walked around their bed once or twice to inspect them. Upon deciding that it had no business with them, the creature moved on. Finally, it came to the last room. The bedroom of little Mary- a sweet little eight year old girl with long curly blond hair, tanned skin, and green eyes. She was as gentle as she was strong, and everyone in town knew and loved her. Her parents had done a wonderful job raising her thus far. Pity, they wouldn't be seeing her grow into the fine young woman they wanted her to be.

Quiet as ever, the creature crept into the room- the sounds of its steps fell silent upon stepping onto the thick carpet that covered the flooring. With nary a sound, it came to stand at the foot of her bed- it remained there for a moment, before it walked around to come to a short stop at her bedside. What little light the moon offered through her unblocked window, revealed what had crept into the house, and into the room. A small, silver and white fleeced lamb. He was only a couple feet tall, had a cute looking face, and a pair of deep, black eyes. He was, if anything, monochrome in description. There was no pink in his nose or ears- just a dull grey. His hoofs were black, his fleece mostly light grey with white at a few spots- it was the moonlight which made him appear to be silver. Carefully, the lamb climbed- or rather, jumped atop the bed. Mary neither woke nor showed signs of waking when he did so- and so, he was free to creep up onto her chest, where he comfortably lied atop her. Almost immediately after he settled, Mary woke and sleepily looked up at him. A pleased smile crossed her face at sight of him, and she moved a hand to scratch the top of his fluff covered head. However, her smile quickly faded when she took a closer look at his appearance. There was something wrong with his mouth. Being the curious girl that she was, Mary moved her hand so that she could try to open the lambs mouth- and when she did, she regretted it.

She yanked her hand away in pain to find that her thumb and two of her fingers were cut open and bleeding. Blood stained the hair around the sides of the lambs mouth, where she had pushed her fingers in to try and pry his jaws apart. She didn't understand it though, how she'd hurt her fingers. She'd raised sheep her whole life- she knew how to handle them. The sides of a lambs mouth had a large gap between the front and back teeth. There was no possible way for her to have been bitten. Or so she thought. She wasn't given much chance to be confused about how she'd gotten hurt, before the lamb opened his mouth. When he did so, a silent scream passed her throat. Teeth. Long, sharp, teeth lined the bottom jaw of the lamb They were longest towards the front of the mouth, and the space where the toothless gap should have been was lined with small, sharp teeth. There were even teeth coming from the upper jaw. Two sets of what looked almost like snakes fangs- they moved as it flexed its jaws to show off the sharp teeth hidden in the back of its mouth. Frozen from the shock, she never managed to move when the lamb inched his face closer to hers. His mouth remained wide open- he stared into her eyes, keeping her paralyzed with fear. Then, without warning, he attacked. He lurched forward suddenly and latched on to her cheek with his jaws. His demonic mouth covered hers to block her screams.

Mary struggled and thrashed in her bed, she tried to push the abomination of a lamb off of her, but to no avail. The lamb held onto her the way a snake holds on to hits prey- his hooked teeth tore into her cheeks and gums. The more she struggled, the more it hurt. Then, there was a flash of light between their mouths, and Mary went completely limp. Her wide eyes, frozen with fear, glossed over and dimmed as a sign of death. As soon as she went still, the lamb dropped her face and shook his head. He ground his teeth loudly, and licked the blood away from his mouth. He sneezed quietly, and wagged his tail a bit, before he simply jumped off the bed and started down the hall. He quickly left the house through the doggy door, and he bounced around in the yard a bit as if happy. He snorted a few times in a playful manner, before he bounced his way out of the yard and towards the road, where he began to walk. Mary's parent would find her in the morning- cold and dead with torn cheeks and few bloody fingers. No one would know who or what had attacked her. None would suspect the little grey lamb she had begged her father to let her keep after she found it lying on the side of the road. No one ever did- and odds were, no one ever would. So, that adorable looking, demon of a lamb walked a couple miles along the road. Before it suddenly walked out into the middle of the street, and lied down to wait for someone to drive by.

When they did, they would surely take him home to look after him. Then, he would have another soul or two to claim come nightfall...

No, sheep aren't that smart- not compared to goats at least.

Sheep don't look for breaks in fences, nor do they lead others out if they happen to find a break.

Goats do. Goats will find a break, then show everyone else where it is so they can all escape.

I like the story and the awesome new kind of wolf in sheep's clothing. it's very nicely written. well done.
one question though, what if they just ran over him with their car instead?

I'd hoped someone would ask that question- one of two things would happen if he was going to get run over.

1. He'd get up and flee.
2. He'd get hit and die- but the demon he serves would revive him.
