Scarecrow x Ikki, Valentines day story. For my girlfriend. Happy Valentines day love~
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Anxiously, he peered down at the makeshift plate of meat he'd prepared. Living out in an abandoned barn made things, difficult at times. Not being able to go out in public made preparing for special events such as this even more difficult. So, he often had to make due with what was available. What he called a plate was nothing more than a thick sheet of dried out corn leaves. The meat, well, there was a small variety. There was chicken, wild turkey, and dove. He caught all of the birds the previous week, then that morning he plucked and butchered them out in secrecy. Awkwardly, he toyed with the pieces of raw bird meat to rearrange them a bit. He felt rather foolish, cutting them the way he had. Every piece was shaped like a heart.
While cutting the meat in such a way had been incredibly difficult, he was content with how things had turned out. Some of the shapes were rather sloppy, but everything was clearly shaped like a heart. Granted, most of the meat wasn't on the plate. Everything he hadn't been able to cut right was in a bucket off to the side. He'd either feed it to the crows or use it to make a weak soup, but that could come after it sat in the sun for a few hours. He liked his meat a little tough and dry- and it wasn't as if he could get sick off of it. The bones were in another bucket next to the leftover meat. Those made nice snacks once they'd dried out. His ears caught the familiar sound of a bird flying into the barn, and not long after the crackling of straw hit his ears.
Knowing who it was, he kept his back turned to give her a chance to make herself decent. Well, as decent as she liked anyways. The dress she liked to wear didn't leave much to the imagination. The fabric barely contained her bust, and given how it parted her hips and legs were in plain view. Very attractive, he could say that much. The issue was that whenever there was a gust of wind, or if she sat down the wrong way, he often caught a glimpse of her rear or her feminine area. Before long, he heard the sound of footsteps approaching him, and he turned hesitantly to face his companion as she approached him. Sure enough, she was in that dress of hers. Barefoot as usual, not that he minded.
Smiling, she approached him. Her naturally red eyes met his, showing off her affection and making it evident how happy she was to see him. A nervous smile graced his features, and he offered a hand out to her. She looked at him, puzzled, but grasped his outstretched hand. Gently, he tugged her towards him and pressed his lips against her cheek softly, bringing a faint blush to her face. She wasn't at all aware of what he'd been up to. He actually had his doubts that she knew what day it was. When he pulled back, he flashed her a smile before stepping to the side to show off the plate of food he'd prepared. As expected, she looked at the meat, then to him with a confused expression clear on her face.
He took a deep breath, and offered an embarrassed smile. For reasons unknown to him, he pulled off his hat and held it anxiously in front of his chest. For some reason, he was extremely nervous. As far as he knew, it was because until now he'd never bothered trying to celebrate the holiday with his partner. She never brought it up, and it was a given that they hadn't been a romantic pair for long. Letting out a long sigh, he tried to calm himself a bit. He cleared his throat nervously, then flashed another smile.
"H-happy Valentines day, Ikki girl." Scarecrow said quietly, his voice to nervous to portray the excitement he felt inside. He watched intently as he face went from confused to shock, then he winced when tears suddenly welled in her eyes. Not knowing what to do, he froze as he watched the woman burst into a fit of sobs in front of him. She wiped her eyes with the back of her hands, and hiccuped as she silently cried. He mentally kicked himself in the groin for upsetting her so badly, and unable to do anything else he reached to wrap his arms around her. He pulled her close and gently rubbed her back, allowing her to get the tears out of her system while he thought of a way to fix things.
Unable to think of anything aside from apologizing, he opened his mouth to speak. However, he wasn't given the chance to utter a sound. Before he could speak, the teary eyed woman pressed her lips against his passionately, kissing him roughly for a moment before hugging him tightly. Startled and flustered, he gaped at thin air as he awkwardly hugged his partner back. That response had, confused him beyond belief. Nervous, he shifted his gaze to peer down at the woman, who looked up at him and smiled gratefully. Again, she kissed him. Though this time the contact was much softer, sweeter.
"T-thank you Scarecrow~" Ikki said happily upon breaking the kiss, before she hugged him once more and nuzzled his chest affectionately. He smiled at this, and affectionately kissed her forehead before resting his head on top of hers. The stood like that for some time after, simply enjoying the others embrace. Then, they slowly pulled apart. Once more, they kissed, before she reached to retrieve a heart shaped piece of meat. Smiling, she popped the food in her house and hummed, enjoying it. She loved raw chicken. He chuckled lightly, glad that his plan had played out alright. A faint blush crossed his cheeks when she offered a piece of the meat to him, and she giggled at he awkwardly ate it.
He wasn't exactly used to having people hand feed him. She flashed a smirk at his flustered expression, and planted a soft kiss on his cheek when he offered a mock glare. He grumbled in embarrassment and put his hat back on top of his head, before turning around to try and compose himself. However, he couldn't help but peer back his partner with a faint smile on his cheeks. As is, this was the best Valentines day he'd had in a while. From her reaction, he could guess the same for her. Well, he looked forward to making the holiday even better come next year~
