Faded x Rainbow, Valentines day story. Happy Valentines day petrifiedrainbows~!

A heavy blush coated the dully colored clowns cheeks as he looked himself over in the mirror. Most of him thought he looked like an idiot, and that he was just begging for people to tease him. Part of him though, believed that his partner would find the outfit adorable. Against better judgement, he was listening to that teeny tiny portion of him who wanted to humiliate himself for sake of making his love smile. Giving his outfit one last adjustment, he sighed before heading to his living room to wait for his partner. He grumbled under his breath, twiddling his thumbs anxiously as he continued to hate his attire. Given that he usually wore a lot of clothing, being virtually naked made him a tad uncomfortable.

Even though he didn't really need to hide anything equivalent to a male anatomy, he still had the urge to keep that area covered. Given that he had no idea how his love would actually react to his, appearance, he didn't want to overstep that thin line between "Romantic" and "Downright disturbing". Anxious and looking for a means of making the time past faster, he tugged at the fabric he wore around his waist to examine it. The cloth he wore like a towel had been white when he got it, but he'd been annoyed by how plain it looked. So, he put his magic to use and gave it the same color pattern as his usual attire. Specifically, he'd given it the same faded, rainbow stripes his socks and sleeves had.

He dropped the fabric to pick up the bow he had with him. To keep to his usual color scheme, it was a dull shade of purple. Odd as it looked, it was real. If he wanted to he could get some arrows and go out to shoot people with it. No guarantee he'd manage to hit anyone though. Truth be told, he had terrible aim. That was part of why he did his killing by hand. Well, that and because he rather enjoyed the feel of fleshy human parts being ripped apart by his fingers. Bored, he dropped the bow to adjust his wings. Rather than leave them white, he'd used his magic to turn them the same shade of dull blue-green that the feathery tuffs he tended to wear on his shoulders were. A knock at his door caught his attention.

Taking a deep breath to calm himself, he approached his door to check and make sure it was who he was expecting. To his relief, and partial despair, it was indeed his beloved. He hesitated, afraid of being teased about his foolish appearance. He watched as his brightly colored partner fidgeted impatiently. He could tell he was holding something behind his back. Probably a Valentines day present for him. Biting his lip anxiously, he stepped sideways so that he could open the door and hide behind it at the same time. He stood nervously and listened as his love stepped inside, then he hesitantly shut the door. When he worked up the nerve to look at his partner, he wasn't surprised to find a look of shock plastered on his face.

He mentally braced himself for the fit of laughter he expected to burst from his lips. When he was abruptly hugged and nuzzled instead, his jaw dropped slightly and he stared down at his partner, confused. Sure enough, the brightly colored clown as hugging him. He could feel a box of some sort rubbing against his bare back. He was fairly certain that it was a box of chocolates. Somewhat flustered, he awkwardly hugged his love back and leaned to nuzzle the top of his head. Well, he hated the attire, but it seemed his beloved enjoyed it. He could stomach the personal embarrassment so long as it made his partner happy. With a smile, the shorter clown stepped back and flashed his love an affectionate smile, before offering a heart shaped box.

He accepted with a shy smile, and opened it up. Sure enough, there were chocolate inside. Based on their array of bright colors and all the cute little decorations, he could only assume that his partner made them. Smiling, he picked up a little white chocolate with a flower decoration on it, and he popped it in his mouth. As expected, it was wonderful. Once done with the treat, he leaned down to place an affectionate kiss against his beloveds forehead. Then, he put the lid back on the box and gently took his hand to lead him further into the apartment. They sat down on the couch, and they cuddled close to enjoy some quality time.

"Happy Valentines Day, Jackie~" Rainbow chimed affectionately as he kissed his partners cheek, before nuzzling his shoulder lovingly.

"Happy Valentines Day, Rainbow~" Faded cooed in response, laughing quietly as he did so. For a moment or so, they continued to affectionately cuddle, before the duller colored of the two beings pulled back a bit.
"I know you like the outfit, but... Can I change back to normal?" He questioned with a faint blush, only to offer an embarrassed smile when his partner giggled.

"Of course you can Jackie~ Lets both have fun today~" Rainbow said with a laugh. After that, Faded snapped his fingers and in a flash of colorful confetti he was back in his usual attire. With that taken care of, the pair resumed their cuddling. Thus far, Valentines day was going great. They could only imagine how wonderful the rest of the day would be~
