Quietly, Vanity smurf peered down at his own reflection in the hand held mirror he kept with him at all times. He stared into the reflection of his own icen blue eyes, as if he expected some unasked question to suddenly step forth with an answer. He raised a hand to quietly pull off his hat, and he gently ran his fingers through his platinum locks- not to fix it, just to feel it as he studied himself. After a moment, he moved his hand to touch the skin near his eyes. He dragged a finger down the bridge of his nose. He felt around his lips and touched his cheeks. Suddenly, he dropped his hand and lowered his mirror as he let out a discontent sigh. He'd been making a routine of this little examination lately- one could call it a bad habit if they chose to. As for why he'd been doing so, there was a simple answer to it. He felt, out of place- different, so to speak. Of the hundred and five smurfs in the village, he was the only feminine looking naturally born smurf. He personally didn't consider Smurfette and Sassette to be real smurfs. As for Nanny smurf- no one but grandpa smurf knew where she came from, so, in the end he had to count her as a real smurf. Though he new it was impossible for her to be anything but a creation. With another sigh, he slowly stood from his place sitting on a rock, and he approached a lake he was sitting beside to peer down at the reflection of his body. He glared down as his feminine features. Slender, feminine hips. Soft, blue skin of a slightly lighter shade than that of the other smurfs. More delicate looking limbs. Slim fingers. Everything about him, save for his lack of breasts, made him more closely resemble Smurfette, a creation of Gargamel, than the smurfs who came into the world naturally. He hated it.

Looking more like a smurf who wouldn't even exist had she not been created by their number one enemy, than like all of the other smurfs, made him feel like he was a fake himself. He hated himself because he hated feeling like he was less of a smurf than the others. With an annoyed growl, he raised his hand in anger and chucked his prized mirror out into the lake- then he mentally cursed himself for doing such a stupid thing. He loved that mirror- it was his prized possession. He'd trade anything else of his to get it back if it was stolen from him. That of course, meant he had to go and get it back. So, with an irritated sigh, he dropped his pants and set them carefully away from the water- he didn't want them getting wet. He was called Vanity for a reason, after all. Then, with his body bare and his clothing safe from the water, he stepped into the chilled waters of the lake and swam towards where he had thrown his mirror. Then, he dove beneath the waters surface to seek out his beloved possession- he was blissfully unaware of the prying eyes that had witnessed his actions. The owner of said eyes, immediately made his way into the water without bothering to undress. Beneath the surface of the lake, Vanity kept his eyes open despite the stinging sensation of the murky waters. He didn't need to look very long before he spotted his mirror- its silver shimmer against the muck green of the lake-bed made it stick out like a swollen thumb. He grabbed at his beloved possession as soon as it was within its reach- and as soon as he had it clasped tightly in his hand, something grabbed him by the leg. Startled by the unexpected contact, he forgot that he was underwater, and so he let out an unheard scream as he was yanked back to the surface.

The next thing he knew, he was pulled roughly against a muscular frame. Through his coughing fit, he managed to realize that he was being pulled towards the shore- but thanks to his heaving he wasn't able to do anything aside from panic. He had no idea who had grabbed him, or why they were trying to drag him out of the water. For all he knew, Gargamel could have turned himself into a smurf again to kidnap him. That horrific thought instilled in his mind, it was natural for him to struggle for all he was worth. He kicked, he squirmed, he used his beloved mirror as a weapon as he attempted to worm his way out of his captors hold- pity he lacked the physical strength to actually get away. By the time he and his captor reached the shore, he had all but worn himself out and reduced himself to a stiff, trembling board- because he was terrified. That terror was soon replaced with confusion when he felt a pair of lips press against his own. Then, the confusion was replaced by relief when he realized who it was. Hefty smurf- the biggest pain in the ass he knew, and his one and only lover. Shaken by his recent paranoia, Vanity wrapped his arms around his lovers strong shoulders, and he kissed him back desperately. He sought comfort in his strong shoulders, and the warmth of his body. When he'd finally managed to calm down, he pulled away from the kiss and they both panted slightly in need of air. Then, he moved a hand to gently touch his lovers cheek, and he fell limp against the muddy shore.

"W-why, in the name of Papa smurf, did you scare me like that?..." Vanity said between pants as he let his eyes fall closed- he could still feel his heart pounding in his chest, and he'd exhausted himself trying to fight off Hefty. Not long after he asked the question, the feminine looking smurf felt his partner kiss his forehead repeatedly, but in a soft and loving manner.

"I should be asking you the same question!... The hell were you thinking, diving into the lake like that?! You tryin to kill yourself?!" Hefty said in a stern tone as he pulled Vanity's confused frame flush against his in a protective manner.

"Kill mysel... What the hell are you talking about Hefty? I threw my mirror into the lake, I had to get it back!..." Vanity said in a confused voice as he felt his lover embrace him tightly. He could hear Hefty's heart pounding in his chest, and he could feel him visibly trembling from fear. Had he really thought he was trying to kill himself when he went into the lake.

"Fucking hell Vanity... You've been actin so odd lately, I thought you might be thinkin suicide..." Hefty said with a pained voice as he continued to cling to his lover- who immediately tensed at his words. Why? Well, because he realized that he'd been acting in a way that could indicate plans of suicide. He'd been less affectionate with Hefty in the bedroom, he didn't want to eat- the muscular smurf had even gone out of his way to cook his favorite foods for him, and he still turned everything down. Sure, he ate- but he didn't really care about what he was eating. He'd spent most of the week striving to be alone- to the extent where he wasn't even sleeping in the same room as his lover. To the ever diligent Hefty, who wanted to make his partner has happy as he possibly could, Vanity's behavior was a little red flag indicating a terrible outcome. Well, knowing that he'd gone and scared his lover half to death made the feminine looking smurf feel like a piece of shit- and so he wrapped his arms tightly around Hefty's back to rub it gently.

"I-I'm sorry Hefty... I got so caught up in my personal issues that I... I guess I just stopped caring about everything around me. I wanted to be left alone to think.... I, wound up really hurting you, didn't I?..." Vanity asked hesitantly as he continued to gently rub his lovers back. Honestly, he couldn't believe how much of a stuck up prick he'd been- no, how much of an inconsiderate asshole, he'd been. He heard and felt the muscular smurf sigh sadly in response to his question.

"Yeah... Ya hurt me a lot Vanity, but... Ah well, maybe I overreacted a bit meself... Heh... Maybe I shoulda known better than to assume you'd drown yourself... Your a tough lad, but not that tough... Drownin's too slow a death for ya..." Hefty said in a pained, somewhat relieved voice as he loosened his hold on Vanity so that he could sit up a bit. He gently moved some of the platinum locks out of his lovers eyes so that he could see his face a tad better. Then, he gently cupped the side of his face before he lent down a bit to place a loving kiss atop his forehead.
"I'm just glad your safe..." He said with a sad smile, before he shifted to lie on his back beside his partner, who in turn sat up to look down at him. He felt like shit for all the emotional distress he'd put hefty through, and naturally he wanted to make it up to him. With only a few minutes thought, he decided that the best way to make amends was to make up for lost time. He'd spend just over a week basically ignoring his partner after all. That meant they hadn't been talking, eating together, sharing a bed, or even doing the things they typically did in the bed before they went to sleep. So, it was high time he made up for his lack of affection- and the best way to do that was to just hop to it. That in mind, he pushed himself to his feet and turned to peer down at his partner, who cast him a somewhat confused look.
"Vanity?..." Hefty said quietly as he sat up a bit to hold better eye contact with his lover- who was honestly surprised that he wasn't looking elsewhere. He was naked after all.

"Get up and take your pants off, I wanna go for a swim with you." Vanity said in a stern voice as he put his hands on his feminine hips- he may not have liked his looks, but he sure knew how to make them work to his advantage. Hefty had learned one to many times that hands on hips meant "Do as I say or you'll fucking regret it". Technically he wasn't going to do anything if his lover didn't do as he asked, but since the trick worked so well he figured he might as well put it to use. In light of the current situation, the faster he got to making everything up to Hefty, the faster he could see him smiling again. As expected, the muscular smurf basically jumped to his feet and striped down faster than a ninja stripper, then he all out jumped into the water for fear of pissing his lover off if he was too slow. Vanity moved into the water not long after, and within a few minutes he and his partner were swimming towards an island made of stones that protruded from the waters surface- that would make the idea scene for some heated romance. Once there, he and Hefty climbed out of the water, and he proceeded to pull the muscular smurf towards the center of the island so they could have some fun. Or in better terms, so he could give his partner a fun surprise. As was expected, the muscular smurf never once questioned his intentions as he was led around, because he didn't want to risk ticking him off. Once they reached their destination, Vanity didn't waste any time. He abruptly turned around, grabbed Hefty, and pulled him in for a rough kiss. At first, the muscular smurf had no idea how to respond to the possessive but affectionate laugh, but he recovered from his temporary shock quickly and then proceeded to kiss his partner back. They kissed passionately for a while, then parted to regain some much needed breath- and that was when Hefty found the nerve to speak again.

*A couple hours later*

Vanity lied comfortably on Hefty's chest, a pleased smile on his face as he and his lover watched while the sun began to disappear behind the tree's that surrounded their home. The pair had yet to clean up after their rough lovemaking session, and it dawned on them that if they didn't head back to the village before the sun set, then they'd be swimming in frigged waters. Still, they were biding their time- it was rare for them to just lie around, and simply enjoy each-others company. They didn't bother to move, or even try to get up until they couldn't see the sun past the trees- but as soon as it did, they got up and quickly made their way over to the water. Sure enough, they'd waited too long. As soon as they got in the water, they both yelped.

"Fuck me with a bear claw! Cold!!!" Vanity hissed loudly, before he took a sharp intake of breath and dove into the water, completely intent on swimming to shore as quickly as he possibly could. Hefty did the same, only he bit his tongue rather than spew profanity at the top of his lungs. The feminine smurf had a sharp tongue alright, and there were times that mouth of his had gotten them both in a heap of trouble. The pair made it to shore as quickly as they could, and then they grabbed their belonging as they rushed into the forest where they could dry without risk of anyone seeing their naked blue backsides. Thanks to the swim, they were no longer in need of a shower, but it took them a while to dry off- considering they only had leaves and grass at hand to use as towels. Once they managed to dry themselves up enough, they hastily put on their clothes, then they proceeded to cuddle with each-other while they waited for their bodies to warm up. That, was when Hefty decided to ask a little question that had been bothering him for a while.

"Erm... V-Vanity... If.. If you weren't getting ready to off yourself this past week, then... What was bothering you so much?..." Hefty asked hesitantly as he nuzzled the top of his lovers head affectionately. The question made the smurf in question tense a bit, before he slowly pulled back to stare at his partner. He was, hesitant about telling him- but he couldn't deny that Hefty deserved a truthful answer. So, he sucked it up, and sighed quietly.

"I... I was, upset, because I look to much like Smurfette..." Vanity said quietly as he looked down in shame, and embarrassment. Sure enough, he heard Hefty chuckle a bit in response to his answer- and he mentally punched himself in the gut for being stupid enough to trust him with his troubles.

"That's what you were upset about~?! Why on earth would something like that bother you~?" Hefty asked with a laugh as he looked down at Vanity, who gave him an angry glare. Oh, he was about to lay into him.

"Because I look like Smurfette, and she's a fake smurf and I don't want to look like a fake because it makes me feel-!" Vanity half shouted, only to be silenced when Hefty suddenly pulled him into a kiss- it was a short kiss, but it was rough, and it did its job in quieting him for a moment.

"Now Vanity, don't go comparing yourself to Smurfette, its not fair of you~ Your a thousand- no, a million times better looking than Smurfette~.. Sure, its a huge compliment to Smurfette, you thinking that she looks nice, but ya don't have to go so far as to say that the two of you look alike, that makes you sound ugly~" Hefty said with an amused smile, and a light chuckle as he put his hand on Vanity's face affectionately. Just like that, every insecurity the feminine smurf had been struggling with lately, vanished. He smiled happily, and nuzzled his lovers hand as he let out a relieved sigh*

"Y-you really don't see similarities between me and Smurfette?..." Vanity said with a smile, as he looked at Hefty, who laughed quietly and lent down to give him a quick kiss. Upon breaking the kiss, he smiled and gave his partner an Eskimo kiss to cheer him up more.

"Vanity, you could put on a dress and grow out that pretty hair of yours, and I still wouldn't be able to find anything in common with you and Smurfette~ You two are way to different, I'd get a headache if I tried~" Hefty said sweetly, before he was suddenly tackle hugged by a very happy Vanity- who proceeded to cuddle with him.

"I have the best boyfriend in the world~!" Vanity chimed as he nuzzled Hefty's chest. In response, the muscular smurf laughed happily as he hugged his lover closer. Then, the pair made a move to kiss- but were interrupted by the sound of a thump, followed by giggling. They jumped slightly in surprise, and peered over the bushes to see what it was. To their slight surprise, they spotted Grouchy lying on his back, with Baby pinning him down while giggling like the playful teenager he was. The sight made them both grin, and Hefty had to cover his mouth to keep from laughing, because the sight of the pair was beyond adorable.

"B-Baby? Stop! Get off!" Grouchy growled weakly, though he made no move to push the younger smurf off of him- because whether he'd admit it or not, he liked it. In response, the teenage smurf giggled and shook his head, before he lied on top of the grump smurf and proceeded to nuzzle the crook of his neck affectionately. Grouchy sighed at this, and wrapped his arms around the younger smurf as a slight blush crept up his cheeks.
"I swear, you keep this up and your gonna wind up being named 'Horny smurf'. I just can't keep up with you..." He grumbled, before Baby sat up slightly. With that, the pair began to kiss- and that was when Vanity and Hefty decided to take their leave. They didn't want to disturb the couple after all- and they sure as hell didn't want to get caught peeping on them. With that, they snuck out of the bushes, before they calmly walked home, holding hands as they went.

The feminine smurf had a sharp tongue alright, and there were times that mouth of his had gotten them both in a heap of trouble. The pair made it to shore as quickly as they could, and then they grabbed their belonging as they rushed into the forest where they could dry without risk of anyone seeing their naked blue backsides. Thanks to the swim, they were no longer in need of a shower, but it took them a while to dry off- considering they only had leaves and grass at hand to use as towels. Once they managed to dry themselves up enough, they hastily put on their clothes, then they proceeded to cuddle with each-other while they waited for their bodies to warm up. That, was when Hefty decided to ask a little question that had been bothering him for a while.

"Erm... V-Vanity... If.. If you weren't getting ready to off yourself this past week, then... What was bothering you so much?..." Hefty asked hesitantly as he nuzzled the top of his lovers head affectionately. The question made the smurf in question tense a bit, before he slowly pulled back to stare at his partner. He was, hesitant about telling him- but he couldn't deny that Hefty deserved a truthful answer. So, he sucked it up, and sighed quietly.

"I... I was, upset, because I look to much like Smurfette..." Vanity said quietly as he looked down in shame, and embarrassment. Sure enough, he heard Hefty chuckle a bit in response to his answer- and he mentally punched himself in the gut for being stupid enough to trust him with his troubles.

"That's what you were upset about~?! Why on earth would something like that bother you~?" Hefty asked with a laugh as he looked down at Vanity, who gave him an angry glare. Oh, he was about to lay into him.

"Because I look like Smurfette, and she's a fake smurf and I don't want to look like a fake because it makes me feel-!" Vanity half shouted, only to be silenced when Hefty suddenly pulled him into a kiss- it was a short kiss, but it was rough, and it did its job in quieting him for a moment.

"Now Vanity, don't go comparing yourself to Smurfette, its not fair of you~ Your a thousand- no, a million times better looking than Smurfette~.. Sure, its a huge compliment to Smurfette, you thinking that she looks nice, but ya don't have to go so far as to say that the two of you look alike, that makes you sound ugly~" Hefty said with an amused smile, and a light chuckle as he put his hand on Vanity's face affectionately. Just like that, every insecurity the feminine smurf had been struggling with lately, vanished. He smiled happily, and nuzzled his lovers hand as he let out a relieved sigh*

"Y-you really don't see similarities between me and Smurfette?..." Vanity said with a smile, as he looked at Hefty, who laughed quietly and lent down to give him a quick kiss. Upon breaking the kiss, he smiled and gave his partner an Eskimo kiss to cheer him up more.

"Vanity, you could put on a dress and grow out that pretty hair of yours, and I still wouldn't be able to find anything in common with you and Smurfette~ You two are way to different, I'd get a headache if I tried~" Hefty said sweetly, before he was suddenly tackle hugged by a very happy Vanity- who proceeded to cuddle with him.

"I have the best boyfriend in the world~!" Vanity chimed as he nuzzled Hefty's chest. In response, the muscular smurf laughed happily as he hugged his lover closer. Then, the pair made a move to kiss- but were interrupted by the sound of a thump, followed by giggling. They jumped slightly in surprise, and peered over the bushes to see what it was. To their slight surprise, they spotted Grouchy lying on his back, with Baby pinning him down while giggling like the playful teenager he was. The sight made them both grin, and Hefty had to cover his mouth to keep from laughing, because the sight of the pair was beyond adorable.

"B-Baby? Stop! Get off!" Grouchy growled weakly, though he made no move to push the younger smurf off of him- because whether he'd admit it or not, he liked it. In response, the teenage smurf giggled and shook his head, before he lied on top of the grump smurf and proceeded to nuzzle the crook of his neck affectionately. Grouchy sighed at this, and wrapped his arms around the younger smurf as a slight blush crept up his cheeks.
"I swear, you keep this up and your gonna wind up being named 'Horny smurf'. I just can't keep up with you..." He grumbled, before Baby sat up slightly. With that, the pair began to kiss- and that was when Vanity and Hefty decided to take their leave. They didn't want to disturb the couple after all- and they sure as hell didn't want to get caught peeping on them. With that, they snuck out of the bushes, before they calmly walked home, holding hands as they went.
