This reminds me of a movie I saw once. "13 Ghosts" I think it was. Anyway, seeing no machines and/or monitors along the walls or in the room, this looks to me like an exhibit of some kind. Or maybe those are some sort of databanks in the next room....

Giving metaphors a physical reality is quite a challenge.
The image is very concrete, the details are very precise.
My own imagination tugs me toward regarding the machine as an analogue for the brain?

Reminds me of a drawing I made before, I don't know if we were thinking the same concept. But when I drew mine, it was a person connected to a machine, and you can see their soul struggling to get out of the body. In this the ghosts look..kinda happy, they're flying around and stuff...but I'm babbling.
