Description
PsCS2 no ref722-705 BC - Assyrian Bas-relief found in the ruins at Khorsabad during the excavation of the palace of Sargon II (or Saragon II) has been claimed to depict falconry. In fact, it depicts an archer shooting at raptors and an attendant capturing a raptor. A. H. Layard's statement in his 1853 book Discoveries in the Ruins of Nineveh and Babylon is "A falconer bearing a hawk on his wrist appeared to be represented in a bas-relief which I saw on my last visit to those ruins."
Only fitting that the tradition would carry on way past our understanding
50% detail shot - [link]
edit - fixed up the focus issues, added more foliage behind the bird, blurred the wing a bit more
edit again - more work on the bird, thx tascha

I am completely in love with your stuff - I go nuts everytime I see something in my watch. XD Your buildings and landscapes completely blow me away, and the atmospheres you are able to achieve are just stunning. And... your concepts are AWESOME. And your people. AND everything else I can think about, lol.
Keep it up!

I rarely comment but I have to now. This is absolutely awesome, the combination of the ancient feeling and kind of astrobuilding (silly word, I donΒ΄t know another ). Reminding some possible discovery of Atlantis. IΒ΄m really in

VERY nice! The building reminds me a bit of the BOOK "The neverending story". Just my association.

yeah, i had to strengthen the depth a bit, the megastructure in the background was a bitch to get looking ok, tricks the eyes into being closer as it's bigger than normal, without the fence there it looked really odd, even odder than having a weird random fence in the middle hehe

i see your reson, yes. i guess it keeps your eyes on the hole point of the painting which is the owl and person
good idea

Very moody - the text, did you make it up or is it actually accurate? (sorry maybe a really stupid question).
Love the Hawk a lot and the city design is pure eyecandy.

thx, added more foliage behind it to aid focus, it supposed to stand out a bit, but not too much that it overpowers

I'm not sure if this is right or no, but is that a rainbow in the background? I really really love your style of work and this is definitely amazing! I suppose if I had to crit, I would mess with the blurred falcon wing. Maybe it just needs a few more layers of blurriness to make it more realistic? Right now, it just looks like a drop shadow with an opacity layer. The Leaves and feet however; are superb! The composition, the backdrop, and the fantasical ideas in your head are simply stunning. Keep up the great work. /justin
