looks like you got the shot right before mother nature was going to give someone a big old bitch slap of water.
Great capture!

Hehe. It does look like that, but the perspective is a little exaggerated by the wide angle lens. The waves aren't usually too rough right here but another 50m around the headland I always get a soaking (just trying to get too close to the waves at a weird, rocky part where the waves are a bit unpredictable). You would have thought I'd learn...

Thanks. The vast majority of my twilight shots are taken at sunrise because I'm a bit of a seascape fan and live on an east-facing coastline (Sydney, Australia) so we catch sunrises over the ocean. In this one the sun had only just risen - it's hidden behind the splash.

That looks like Newcastle to me...am I right?
Interesting capture of the splash. I like the fact that it's not quite still and there's some motion to it.

Thanks.
It's Turimetta beach; smack bang in the middle of Sydney's northern beaches (just north of Narrabeen).

Gidday Aussie. Have to say that was a good moment made better by the fact that the
sunrise was peaking!

Indeed it was - there's a golden orb right behind that mass of water.

Thanks all - just a matter of setting up the shot & waiting for the right wave.
