Description At the time I took this single RAW exposure I also took a 3xp bracketed set (+/- 2EV) with the intention of seeing what an HDR version would look like. I usually don't like HDRs, particularly overcooked ones (which so many seem to be), but I was bored and thought I'd play with this a little (a la Photomatix style).

So here's a tone mapped version, albeit not as subtle as my HDRs usually are, with my usual PP tweaks in CS3.

Outstanding result you've got. The dynamic range of colour is just fantastic, nicely composed

Wow, that's an amazing shot with beautiful colors and soft water. I'm not sure about the frame, I would just leave it without it.

Thanks.

Yeah, I've been thinking about image borders on dA a bit recently & I think I agree with you that, in general, they don't work very well. I think it's potentially because of the drab green default background on all dA pages (I wish I knew how to change/override that). Borders work much better on neutral web pages I think (like all black or all white, or some neutral gray); for example, I prefer simple borders on my Flickr images.

Anyway, thanks for the comment. I'm still a work in progress.
