AKA the most exotic fruit in the world, durian is a highly interesting, yet strange fruit. This is only one section of the whole thing. Frankly, I find durian absolutely disgusting and not only does it smell, it feels and tastes horrible. Sorry to offend you durian-lovers; ya either love it or hate it!Related content

my mom used ti hate this stuff but wen we went to the phillipines she got all crzy over it and she brought some home and so even after we left davao we had to smell this.....
they were also eating balut but thats another story for another day

I had durian paste as part of my trying various exotic fruit. It tasted very odd. I suckered two of my friends to try it. One said it was the nastiest thing he'd ever tried and the other scarfed down the rest of the paste! The paste actually tastes okay on Ritz crackers, but it's probably quite different with the fresh fruit.

Honestly, I don't think durian paste counts if you're trying exotic fruit; it has roughly the right taste, but you'll never get the texture without eating the real thing. Trust me, the texture is a whole other ball game.

but i just love the photo!!! nice pic. it looked like it came from a catalog. clear and the grooves of the fruit is very visible. what camera did you use?

Woof durian... From the thumbnail, I thought it was some horrible bug. Being durian, its not much better. At least the bug looked like it had the potential to be cute. Can't stand the fact most of my family likes the stuff.

If it is, I've heard stories about it. It's rarity, the peculiar smell and how it affects people's minds, etc etc.
