Description
An unsavory demise befell the Age of Fire, for all its splendor and majesty.
In one last devouring flare, the world was engulfed by Flame, left in cinders and Ash,
Twisting it once more into a bleak realm; a cauldron for the festering Hollows.

Those branded by the wicked Darksign found eternal misery yet: the ashes now sustained them.
Dark loomed over them like an augur, hungering for this interim, this persisting half-light to end,
So that it may swallow up the ashen archtrees and the barren bones of all who lived.

This is the third of four (most likely) tributes to the world of Dark Souls, each to be accompanied by an excerpt of a tale told by a long forgotten elder, half-Hollowed on the peak of some forgotten mountain, awaiting the next hero to come seeking the secrets of the ancient past.
(In other words, I'm really just retelling the premise of Dark Souls in the words of someone who is only barely clinging to their sanity)

When the Fire died, hope for many was lost as well. Caught betwixt the dying embers of a lost Age and the menacing shadow yet to come, a once-valorous knight tread the path of her ancient fellows. A cursed blade, long since bereft of its divine powers, became her instrument of vengeance against the living in the mad quest that had effaced her honorable heart. Hollows she scorned, and now too was she a wicked Hollow.

This one has an alternate song because they're both just so damn good that I couldn't pick one.
