Gally/Alita from Gunnm/Battle Angel Alita. in her earlier Last Order outfit.If you have been following Yukito Kishiros' work, especialy Gunnm Last Order in the recent time, you might have come to notice that he had a little of a discussion with his editor.He was asked to change some words, refering to insanity, in his older Gunnm manga, while he was hard at work finishing the 100th chapter of Last Order. The old issues where issued for immediate reprint, so he had to change them, and put in an extra shift to finish chapter 100 too. He finished both, but, unfortunatly he decided to put Last Order on a Hiatus, stating that there might never even be a Chapter 100...
Being a long time fan - BAA being the first manga I ever read, and BAA:LO being the only manga I read today, I decided to try and motivate him a bit, with some fan spritework. This is just a part of the animation I will be sending him, greatly revolving about the theme: "WHAT WILL HAPPEN TOO...!?" "... Gally!? Zechs!? The Scrapheap?! Zalem?! Desty Nova!? SUPER nova!? Mars?! Conclusion!? FLAN!?" what about US readers? o.o everything underlined with some animation and japanese textartwork.
Maybe it will motivate him? what do you think?

I'm currently buying the Last Order manga from my local import comic-store; hopefully Yukito Kishoro will not kill her off in the last story...

i remember watching the animation movie.. or was it a series? anyways it was (unfortunately) pretty short

It was a OVA, 2 episodes where produced, loosly based on the 2 first manga volumes. You should REALY read the Manga. Best Sci-Fi/cyberpunk Manga there is IMO. Breathtaking artwork, sympathic and psychopathic characters, and lots of background fluff, to make everything seemingly work.

is cool. Oddly enough I've just reobtained the anime having been a fan of it back in the 90's when I was much more into anime overall (I've just been getting all my old favorites lately). I seem to have got the wrong dub (yeah so what i prefer dubs to subs) though as they call her Gally in it and the one I grew up with she was called Alita in it and that name always stuck with me more (I think it's nicer sounding and cooler).
Anyways this is a nice piece and instantly recognisable as the character.
