This is quite possibly one of the most dynamic and playful poses from you, neck to neck with "Boba Tea". It's almost a childish, "caught in the act" expression. So adorably mischievous <3

My pal Ani, when I was first getting to know her in Russia-- she was very unpredictable back then!

I... got a Facebook account. It's only because I'm getting a website done and Facebook is apparently so essential for the spreading of news...

Ani was born in Iran, but the family fled to Switzerland when she was a kid; Switzerland is like some fantasy of a city, where everything's clean and everyone's cool...

I wish there were more words in English so that I could somehow craft a sentence appropriate for this piece. It's like it's been painted with the colors that we can't imagine or see.
The detail is completely overwhelming, the expression is genuine, and the world created is ornately gorgeous. I'm floored to say the least..

Aw, thank you so much, Mr. Tateosian! This image was the result of a trip to Russia, after a lifetime of never having travelled anywhere... to say the least, my senses were overwhelmed...

This is nice! the face, the pose and all the details were nicely done! And to think, this is made with gouache, I must learn how to use that medium..sometime..

I think you'd really love gouache, Edjie; the colors are so pure, and the paint itself is very satisfyingly rich and thick...

That's an awesome artwork!
I can't believe it's a traditional painting, it looks so smooth and perfected. The colours are very intense and beautiful .
Very nice!

Thanks, Tru; this is another painting of mine that got all tangled up in the memories of the time; I think I want to start moving towards simplification...

Wow.. I'm so amazed by this piece. You really did excellent on this. The mood in it is joyful and calming, in her eyes I see a playful soul, a young soul, kind and friendly in every way, and loving. Her clothing and face details are completely divine. And me being a foot fetishist and having a love for feet, examining them when I get the chance, I took a lot of notice into her feet on here, and you did a very superior job on them! The soles, the toenails, the shapes, the sizes of the toes, each smaller than the before. They're so cute, and very greatly drawn. I also really love that armband she has on, I hadn't noticed it before but I did now. I hope to see more like this one, very awesome job. Your art so far is some of the best I've seen! ^^ Have a great day! ~~Mike.

I don't know how you manage to get such vivid qualities of light in your paintings. This actually seems to glow - I suppose it's the use of undiluted primaries. I love the detail, the use of colour and all the different textures. Really stunning. Why the elephant, incidentally?

This is such a carefree and joyful moment in this person's life, but I know her, and I know the memories she carries around with her... "an elephant never forgets."

I always seem to notice the 'little' things first..hehe..the ele' has his ears pierced! and omg toenails! The little blue berries on the bush..*sigh* It is the inclusion of such fine details that keep me captivated by your work. It looks so smooth what is it painted on?

Thank you, sweetie!
It's painted on hot-press illustration board, which really is smooth as glass-- I go back and forth between loving the texture of canvas and craving the glassiness of board...

This piece is beautifully done. Her face intrigues me with the personality in it, and as in a lot of your work it is almost more interesting to notice what is in the background versus the subject matter.
