I had a fish who looked exactly like that named Temperence he lived for 2 days...
Sorry I have no idea why that just made me laugh... R.I.P. temperence

I had a turtle named Oddle...
Oddle and Temperance might show up in a children's book at some point...

Oh my god that's the best name ever! ;_______;
Temperance and Oddle... that seriously sounds like a children's book or Oddle and Temperance

A turtle and a goldfish with those names might get up to some cool adventures-- and I've always wanted to do something with a Beauregard the Elephant...

Oh. my. god.. He needs to be a character in this, I'm serious!!

SRaffa In reply to Rubius [2009-12-07 20:36:53 +0000 UTC]

So, Temperance would be this young goldfish in New York, and Oddle would be this old turtle in the midwest, and they'd be conspiring to rescue Beauregard the elephant from the zoo, maybe...

Rubius In reply to SRaffa [2009-12-07 20:39:26 +0000 UTC]

! That is so adorable.. maybe they should rescue him from the circus instead, that way it would be like a traveling thing that they both know about? Circuses have elephants right?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SRaffa In reply to Rubius [2009-12-07 20:46:32 +0000 UTC]

Circus is much better-- MUCH... and the traveling would facilitate the story much better... We'll have to start screwing around with this for real...

What do the goldfish represent?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SRaffa In reply to Rebecca-Davidson [2009-03-24 21:56:35 +0000 UTC]

The fish just emphasize how completely focused on the passage of time the guy is-- he doesn't notice anything else going on at all...

Rebecca-Davidson In reply to SRaffa [2009-03-25 03:37:25 +0000 UTC]

Ah, sounds v. deep If the fish represent time and they're just flowing past the window.. Ah, life just passes us by

I like the face of this guy too. V. Creepy/worried. Great work

Such vibrant colors; the electrifying green that exaggerates his shock is also a sickly green that suggests horror at his realization of the passage of time. His stare lights the watch, emphasizing the importance he gives to time. His preoccupation shadows the existence of other things; he himself becomes a watch…

But the glass is on the verge of shattering, perhaps to bring him back to reality…and perhaps he is helpless under the power of time and is waiting for something to shatter his fixation?

Extraordinary…as spellbinding as time itself.

I liked that movie-- especially when James Caan, as the cop in the movie, walks to his own front door, and you see that his lawn is hopelessly dead and dried up, while everyone else's is green and verdant-- it's just a really funny touch with no particular attention drawn to it...

This kind of reminds me of Kip from Futurama, and what he might look like in a more realistic world.

I like how dreamy this looks, and the light shining off the pocket watch in both places looks nice.

Also, I adore the white sea outside the window and the goldfish. Or perhaps they're flying goldfish in a pink sky.
