Description
I was re-reading the Otori series(Heavens net is wide, Across the nightingale Floor, Grass for his pillow, The Brilliance of the Moon, The Harsh cry of the Heron by Author Lian Hearn)
, and thought i would draw Takeo & Kaede (main characters), the way i see them in my head when i read their story

Beautiful! Very close to my own mental image. I just finished Grass for His Pillow last night & started Brilliance of the Moon. I haven't read Heaven's Net. I started w/ Across the Nightingale Floor. My wonderful boyfriend picked up all five books at our favorite local bookstore. So far, I am thoroughly engrossed. Hearn is a phenomenal writer!

I actually started with Across the Nightingale Floor as well, borrowing it from a friend at school. She was an english girl and so I read the book in english. She didn't have the other books though, so I actually searched for a couple of years finding them, and when I did, I only found them in french (I don't like switching languages once I started something in one 
They're beautiful stories and the characters are simply amazing. You'll enjoy all of the books. They each offer their own magic

I wish that I could read in multiple languages. I'm struggling just to learn Spanish! But, I plan to learn at least two or three more. ^^

Wow. I love this. It reminds me a lot of the older fantasy Japanese paintings, which, I guess was maybe where you were going with this, since the series is set in Japan. Kaede's hair is amazing, and I love that little swirl on her heel. Seeing this makes me want to re-read the series again.
