Description
At the Delta Aquilae Shipyards life goes on. The Dominion War continues and casualties mount for the Federation Alliance. Dr. Amin, the chief of surgery at the Delta Aquilae Fleet Hospital and Commander Brooke Massina, the chief intelligence officer of the Delta Aquilae Shipyards and Facilities, bring a request to Captain Tryla Scott, the acting commander of Delta Aquilae. Starfleet Medical has recieved a request from the Klingons and Romulans for assistance with their wounded. The Klingon field hospitals are over capacity, flooded with wounded from the recent battles with the Jem'Hadar. The Romulans have a similar problem and many Romulan wounded are dying on the long journey back to Romulan space. Both powers have requested permission to send their overflow to Starfleet hospitals.

Starfleet Intelligence has studied the requests and made security recommendations for the Starfleet Medical facilities chosen to handle the Allied wounded. Starfleet Medical has ordered the new hospital facility at Delta Aquilae to make arrangements to recieve Klingon and Romulan wounded. Commander Massina and Dr. Amin have reviewed the order and now bring it to Captain Scott at the daily briefing.

"You have reviewed the order from Starfleet Medical, Captain.." Dr. Amin begins. Her tone more serious than usual. She is standing in for Dr. Resnik who is away for a conference at Starbase 325.

"Starfleet Medical wants to accommodate the Klingons and Romulans. So we have been selected for this task along with a half dozen other facilities." Dr Amin finishes.

Captain Scott rereading the order as the doctor said her piece, looks up from her PADD. Admiral T'Var has been gone for only a few days and the weight of command begins to weigh on the captain. Being made acting commander of Delta Aquilae and Starfleet Salvage Command was an honor at first, but it has proved to be a hard job. Much more difficult than commanding a starship or being chief of staff to an admiral. But Tryla Scott is ready for this. She has spent the last nine years working for one of the hardest working flag officers in Starfleet and the former commander of Starfleet Salvage Command, so she has learned alot. She is the best prepared acting commander Salvage Command has ever had and she relishes the daily challenges.

"I would guess that the Klingons and Romulans will have to be kept well apart." Scott says matter of factly. "How are we set up for that?"

Commander Massina nods her head in agreement.

"Yes, of course." Massina replies. "And we will have to place security guards outside of their wards. They might be allies now, but decades of hate can't be brushed aside."

"I have spoken to Lt.Commander Parker of the Corp of Engineers and he is working on plans for two new wards." Dr. Amin says. "These wards will be about 50 meters apart and separated by two power generators. Both wards will have an attached surgical bay and post op recovery rooms. The Klingons and Romulans will provide medical equipment and staff these wards themselves. We will provide them living quarters and dining facilities for their staff. They will be assigning fifteen people each. Four doctors, six nurses, and five orderlies/clerical staff."

Captain Scott nods her head as she listens to Dr. Amin's report. She makes notes on her PADD as she makes more inquiries. Having these 'allies' at her facilities is something she never thought she'd have to deal with. And it causes all kinds of security concerns. They might be allies, but she does not trust them.

"How many patients do they plan to treat here?" Scott asks.

"At least two hundred." She answers "That's two hundred per ward. They will be the most seriously wounded. They would be stablised here then transported out on medical ships when they're able to be moved."

Scott shakes her head.

"Two hundred Klingons and two hundred Romulans. .." Scott mumbles. "Plus medical staff and transport ships... We will have to set up a recieving bay away from the shipyards themselves and far enough away from each other so that there will be no contact between them. No 'allied' personnel will be allowed in or near the shipyards or the station without escort or permission."

"Yes Captain. I'll work on new security protocols with Commander Karoul right away." Massina replies "We will try not to 'insult' our allies with these restrictions."

Scott nods her head slightly in agreement as she makes further notes in her PADD.

"Good. When will we be ready to recieve their wounded?" Scott asks

"Lt.Commander Parker said that his people will break ground in two days..." Dr. Amin replies. "He says they will be finished in four days. The Klingons and Romulans should arrive a day later and install their equipment. That should only take them twelve hours. By day six they'll be ready to recieve patients."

Scott makes a few more notes on her PADD then sat it down on the table.

"Okay then. Keep me informed of the construction progress, doctor, and the arrival of their respective staffs..." Scott says. "Commander Massina, I will need a up to date intelligence report on our 'allies' intel capabilities and what we should look out for. Tell Commander Karoul to report to my office as soon as he arrives back on the station."

"Yes Captain!" Both women reply in unison.

"Is there any other business to report?" Scott asks

The two officers flip through their PADDs to begin their regular daily reports....
