Description
Threw this up over on my sketchblog but looking at it again it might be a bit more finished than I first thought. This way I also don't feel too guilty about spamming everyone with all that sketch stuff earlier by putting up something a bit more substantial while still pandering to my love of cheesy pinup style art.
Anyone know if they still make Hydrox cookies? The poor man's Oreos. I've had a craving for 'em lately.

This looks plenty finished to me. Then again, I guess it's all in how you feel about it. You probably whipped this up pretty quickly (looking at it, I imagine it would take me hours to get it this tight but you're probably just faster by nature) and that quickness makes you feel like it was more or less a "sketch" instead of a finished piece.

I don't really go with how fast I can produce art because I can crank something decent out under the gun if I need to (even if I don't enjoy it as much as noodling on something for longer periods of time) but more about how much thought I put into it. Something like this piece which I drew on a whim without thinking, shooting from the hip as it were, feels sort of like a sketch to me because it's just a random thought put to paper with no real meaning behind it if that makes any sense. It's hard to explain-something just created for the sake of doing it rather than for a purpose such as a project or commission even though folks can argue that even something like this has a point to it. I just see it as a fun little piece of art, is all.

Ha! I thought I was the only one that knew about Hydrox. Its all my mom would buy growing up because they were the "kosher" oreo. (They werent made with animal fat). A quick Google search shows they may be making a come back to tell your cravings to hold on a little longer.
(Oh... the are is cool too.....)

We should form a Hydrox Brigade and fight for the goodness that is cheap cookies! As a kid I thought they were named after a villain from a comic book or cartoon I hadn't seen yet.
Good to hear they're making a comeback. Now I just have to get Postum and Count Chocula back on the shelves and I'm golden.

I used to think it was Hebrew because my mom told me it was kosher and Oreos weren't.
If Hydrox ever wants a mail in promo comic for the kids Id be down with writing it.

Looks tasty. I'm reminded of the M.F. Doom song of the same name. I've never had a hydrox cookie but they sound delicious.

AH-HAHA! Had to find the tune on YouTube (I'm about a hip as a wart on a toad's ass) and it's very groovy! Adds a whole new spin on this piece but in a cheeky-good way.
Hydrox was a tasty alternative to Oreos so if ya liked them but couldn't spare the bread they worked in a pinch.
