Yes and no. Sometimes I have an idea for the bg but usually I just make it up as I go along.

honestly, Dan, I don't see how you can draw that fast!! these sketches are amazing, and when I see that they took a matter of minutes...

It just looks like alot but it's a bunch of sketchy quick lines that I don't think too much about. These DSCs just get blurted on the screen by Photoshop all I do is hold the stylus so that it makes some kinda sense in the end.

Yes, I never read the comic but I watched the movie when I was little. Used to walk around say Dick Tracy with over dramatic expressions. Good Times.

I used to yell out "DICK TRACY!!!" because of the commercials for the toys. I'm gonna go look on YouTube and see if anyone has those up there.

I was torn between a Sin City look for the whole crime noir feel or a Batman:TAS vibe which I think won out in the end. I think a cartoon done in that style would fit Tracy to a T.
