Description
NAMEGON vs TASK FORCE X commission steps starting with the rough prelim sketch to the final inks and greys. The sketch was done on a comic book backing board with a regular 2B pencil. Once it was approved I drew the light pencils onto an eleven by seventeen inch board with a F Lead in a clutch pencil holder. The inking was done with a mixture of Sakura Microns (sized 01 to 05), Faber-Castell PITT Artist Pens (sized S and F), and a Pentel Pocket Brush. The coloring was done using Warm, Cool, and French Prismacolor makers ranging from 10% to 90% and ShinHan Touch Green and Blue Grey markers. The Warm greys were used for fleshtones and for shading some of the surrounding material. The French Greys were used for the main figure of Ultra Q's Namegon monster. Everything else is done using the remaining markers for backgrounds, clothing, and props. A couple of touches of white with a Pentel white gel pen, acrylic white paint, and a white Prismacolor pencil to add highlights and definition. Extra WIP pics on my Instagram (stalk_danielcampos) for those that want to take a peek.

Nice work man! You did a great job with keeping the Ultra-stayle of the monster but packing in the detail and giving it some verisimilitude. Very well done!

Thanks, Lew! I'm glad you caught that as it's always weird with my style which borders on cartoony/realistic and sometimes goes from one extreme of that spectrum to the other depending on my mood or what I want to get across in the piece.
