I know this is really hastily done - hardly deserves to be in my gallery at all - but I had to get these moments out of my system. No character even looks like the actors, or the same in two consecutive images. I've been too excited to do anything that requires real concentration. I'll draw something proper in two months or so, when I've calmed down.So, as you might remember, I went to see Åbo Svenska Teater's Les Mis yesterday.
The production had a new Marius, Tomi Metsäketo. I used to think Glenn Daniel Nilsson's Marius was the most socially awkward Marius ever... But nope. Metsäketo wins this round. Out of these only the low right one is a bit exaggerated.
From upper left: Marius has found out Éponine can find Cosette, Cosette asks Marius to make no sound during A Heart Full of Love, Marius loses his beloved book during The Robbery, A Heart Full of Love (Reprise).
Les Mis is not mine.
Still freaking out about everything that has happened this weekend.

Heh, I don't know if it would be the most amazing thing ever for you - but for me, it is. Partially because it's the best musical I've ever seen, of course - but also partially because there are a bazillion happy memories associated with the production for me. Makes it even more special.

i saw it recently, and when it started, i startedpokig and elbowing my mom "mommommommommommommommommommomLOOKITSSTARTINGLOOKLOOKLOOKLOOKITSSTARTINGLOOKMOM". And i bawled my face off when Gavroche died. i wasnt expecting him to die so dramatically and tragically and such.

That's kind of like me in Les Mis, except for that my mom refuses to come with me - so I have to poke my friends or just giggle alone.

My mom was essentially the one who introduced me to Les Miz, because whenever we cleaned the house on Saturday, she would play all these musicals. Its handed down from generation to generation. my child are going to be the biggest musical geeks ever. And if your mom won't obsess over it with you, thats what places like this are for. I kind of wish there was a bootleg too, but I'm quite certain there's not going to be.
Mostly because I think I'm the only enthusiastic enough fan to even consider recording it, and I would never dare. It's the theatre's #1 rule that nothing shall be photographed/taped/recorded, and I won't risk being thrown out of the theatre (all my tickets are for the first two rows, they'd so see me...). And anyway, I want to respect them, so I'm not filming it. Doesn't make me any less upset about that in a month it's gone forever, though.

You know, I've felt pretty insane lately, to be honest. Today, I'm feeling positive, but I've been strangely nervous about the whole Les Mis affair... I've been thinking it's hardly sane anymore ever since I almost started crying in train on Monday when I still thought it was about to end in two weeks. 
But maybe it's just the post-traumatic stress of OH-MY-GOD-RUNE-SAETER-IS-TALKING-TO-ME-I'M-GOING-TO-MEET-THE-CAST speaking... 
Hm, two days and I'll see Les Mis in Malmö! Remember the time when everything wasn't about Les Mis somehow? Me neither. I went to a presentation about a new musical called Striking 12 in Helsinki City Theatre yesterday. Even that was largely about Les Mis, and I'm not kidding!
