Description
After a hard day's work, Yoi goes home to tuck into a nice meal. With such an enormous basket of fish, there might be a ladyfriend or company coming over. Who knows, maybe Yoi is just ravenously hungry. Maintaining the gloss on his claws and sweeping wings must require extra nutrition.Note: The dragon-thing on the roof is supposed to be a little stone silouette of Yoi's noodly dragonform. The little lumps next to it are supposed to be animals. I got the idea from a custom for some places in China (eg. Forbidden City) to place them on the edges of a roof. Number and type of animals can denote the status of the building and its occupants, and some had superstitious purposes as well (eg. an animal to ward off the very wooden kitchens from being incinerated).
Kiriban for =Shinerai , thanks for answering all my pestering questions and even providing really sweet references! I've never used so much pink for a character and background before, and I had fun with it. I'm sorry about the character and anomatical issues too! D:

Man, I keep forgetting to comment on this because every time I look at it, I get sucked into staring at the picture for so long I have to peel my face off the screen to get away from it D:! Sorry. Gosh, but this picture is so beautiful, Starlit 3: I don't think anyone's ever done a full picture like this of one of my KyaRa boiz, this is just so amazing that I'm not even mad at you for pwning me at drawing my own character. XD Your style just fits him so well D:! I love all the soft shading that you do and THEN ALL THE DETAIL. Arg, detail makes me angry because you do it like so amazing and It. . takes me forever and It doesn't even look that good when I do it. I especially like all those folds and patterns in the clothing and how you snuck the symbol from his waistwhatever onto his wrists. I know that I shouldn't be saying this, but my most favorite part of the whole picture are the bushes right by the traditional Chinese building. I like them so much, they seem to ground the image with their texture and striking realism. The character is very good too, but somehow the plants really caught my eye, maybe because I don't see them done so well so often.
I'm really jealous of your pictures, they are so neat, and colorful, and detail.

I'm really glad you like the bushes, because those awful leaves are heartbreaking to draw one by one. xD I need to make a brush for that, because vegetation takes too long!

I suppose, but if the brush takes too much away from the magnificence of your handi work, you shouldn't use it. Because then I wouldn't be able to admire the pretty scenery as much.

I love the monochromatic feel of this piece. Though there are a lot of different colors, they work so well together to give of the sense of an arora/Twightlight atmosphere. I love the position of the character and the use of the negative space. Idk if this is your original character or not so please forgive me in saying that i like the features that make him look slightly feminine, or almost of a genderless case, since i tend to feel that is somewhat more appropriate when doing magical beasts.
I love the light melancholy atmosphere. It seems so pleasant and yet so surreal at the same time. I congratulate you the amount of thought and detail that was put into this, especially the green fish for a complimentary balance. (they are so cute btw)
