Dragonriders of Pern! I loved those books. First books I ever read that showed friendly dragons, fell in love with them because of that. Even my name was inspired by those books.

The books are very good reads, I'm rereading the Anne books currently.
Also you might be interested there's a new one out in october by her daughter Gigi, Dragon's code. It's her first book so I'm rather excited. Looks like it's sometime around dragondrums but perhaps before or during the early part of The white dragon.

I love them, but there are so many and the series goes so far back that it's surprisingly hard to get them. Doesn't stop me from getting them when I can, though. I'm glad to see Gigi continuing the series.
