Description Defender II MBT.. under development in Blender 2.49B

Well the basic specs are already in the image..so i'll only add some little addenum.

The 138mm gun of Defender II is capable of firing this type of ammunitions :

-APFSDS Lohengrin Penetrator
-HEAT BK-2M
-Blast Frag Anti Personel
-Roxas GLATGM-Laser Guided 10 km range ATGM

The gun is loaded automatically through bustle "rack type" with four compartemets in stacked arrangement with loader projectile handler arm and loader "rounds pusher" arm in the middle. The autoloader is capable of stowing 24 rounds.

Fire control and stabilization of the gun is provided through balancer system arranged below the gunner's sighting unit. It consist with ring laser gyros, accelerometers and digital computers, that integrates input from the gyros, laser rangefinding unit, Thermal imagers and meteorological sensors.

The stabilization signals processed through computers will later used to provide correction of the gun position in azimuth and elevation. Correction of the gun position is achieved by train motors located below the gun trunnion, providing elevation correction and turret rotating motor providing azimuth correction.

Once target is found and designated by laser Rangefinder for engagement. The fire control system can continuously track it.

The fire control unit is hardened and rugged, ensuring reliability and ability to provide firing solutions in any conditions and in any speed.

However for successfull engagement against concealed or moving target. GLATGM will be the preferred means over conventional rounds.

The Roxas GLATGM is similar design as Russian Refleks ATGM. However being larger in diameter and with gel fueled motors, allowing Roxas to reach farther than Refleks.

In terms of Optics and sights, Defender II can be classified as "typical" modern tank .. laser range finders .. panoramic sights and RCWS sights are standard features.

However all of these sights are rugged and have comperehensive counterdazzler system. Allowing it to work even when illuminated by high power lasers by enemy.

The Counter dazzler system consists with filters and special lens and prism arrangements which will direct the beam to "sacrificial prism" which will reduce laser energy through absorption mechanism. Ensuring crew's eye safety and prevent thermal imager's detector element from being damaged or "upset" by enemy dazzlers.

The optical systems also hardened against small arms fire and even have "radiometer mode" where it will receive Radio frequency wave. The optic's radiometer mode is able to "image" objects with great accuracy ..thanks to utilization of hyperspectral alogarithm.

Gunnery and missile launching is possible in radiometer mode. However target identification will likely be hampered a bit due to lack of color.

During operation in radiometer mode, the optics shutter will be closed, protecting the lens from being hit by small arms fire.
The shutter is made of dielectric materials, allowing radio frequency wave .. in mm wave to penetrate the shutter and being imaged by the imaging arrays.

Nice tank
Kinda makes me want to model my 50 ton turbine-electric tank called M5...

I have seen it.

Hmm Turbine-electric.. so you linked gas turbine with electric motors eh ?

Yeah. It is kinda similar to various turbine-electric locomotives that have been produced in the past. Also many ships are turbine-electric now. I have hub mounted electric motors similar to what are found in some hybrid and electric cars. Would actually allow for limited mobility in the event you have serious damage to the track system due to a mine or IED. I'll have to post some more info on M5 later if you are interested

Me gusta. This is much better than the up-armored variant which was looking like an oversized clone of Sherman Jumbo.

I prefer the modernizing the old tanks with new FCS and stuff. (Such as arming the T-55 with 120mm gun and "Drozd" APS)

Reference... Please? I don't have much information about the "Drozd" APS.
