Description

The Delia system born from the brainchild of Army Air Defense system, which desire medium range SAM system with self defense capability against defense suppression. The result was based on our newest "Alicia" heavy IFV chassis, with over 50 metric tonnes in weight.

a Battery of Delia consist of up to 8 vehicles. 1x "Maebelle" Mobile command post, 1x "Arrandelle" Early warning and battle management radar and 6x "Edell" TELAR (Tractor Erector Launcher And Radar) Fire unit. There might also optional reloading vehicle. coordination is done through means of laser,radio or fiber-optic datalink.

Edell TELAR however is able to perform independent action and able to use full range of the Delia medium range missile.

Edell is equipped with advanced phased array radars. One of which search radar that operates in S-band, the radar is capable of rotating search like usual SPAAG search radar OR fire control and mid-course optimized electronic sector scan where the antenna will be stopped and continuously "pointed" at threat search sector. Beamsteering in this mode is entirely electronic with capability to detect 0.01 sqm target at over 100 km, depending on the environment. Delia medium range missile is supplied with its mid course update data through this radar.

Another radar is engagement radar, which controls the 30mm guns and short range beamrider. This phased array radar operates in mm wave band for extremely sharp beamwidth. Thus allow high accuracy and reduction of glint phenomenon on low flying target. This radar is capable of simultaneously handles 2 engagements with hypersonic "Crush" missile.

In terms of autonomy. Edell is equipped with larger fuel tank compared to Alicia IFV or her MBT Sibling "Alessa" for 48 hrs operation. The power source involved is a Gas turbine generator.

The Edell like Alicia has crew of 3, Driver-mechanic. Vehicle Commander and Gunner.
