Description
The Majesty-class battleship is, without contest, the pride of the Magisterial Navy. Conceived of many years before it was capable of being built, the Majesty-class was meant to lead the unification of Boeth, the homeworld of the Imperial Dawn, a task HMIS Majesty and her sister ship HMIS Dominion accomplished admirably once they were finally completed. The ships' construction required liquidating a significant portion of the Imperial coffers, and the construction of the outfitting berths and dry docks alone nearly exhausted the Magisterial Navy's budget for a single year. The construction firms and steel producers involved in gun and armour manufacture required heavy government subsidies to stay afloat during construction, as nearly all other orders were put on hold while the Majesty-class was being built. Even so, the warships were a point of great national pride, and a nation-wide funding drive eventually saw the class completed. The result was worthy of such pride.
  Armed with twelve 18.1-inch 50 caliber heavy rifles, sporting more than 17 inches of main belt armour, capable of a flank speed of 30 knots, and displacing over 100,000 tons at full load, the Majesty-class was second to none within the Magisterial fleet and, indeed, many other fleets. The pair of ships set a standard to which all other Magisterial battleships would be held, but to which none would hold a candle.

(As a note, I initially wanted to make something comparable to the Imperial Japanese Navy's Yamato-class without being excessively similar, but as I worked and reworked the model- incidentally while re-watching Space Battleship Yamato 2199- the Majesty-class ended up being a love letter to Yamato. I can only hope it's worthy of the comparison. Written on the bow is "Feianaza", meaning "Majesty" in Lastreian, the language and script of the Imperial Dawn.)
