Description

The Sarastro-class fleet carrier is the largest and most powerful warship that one can expect to regularly find in any major fleet engagement.  Capable of carrying dozens of cruisers and destroyers in addition to tens of thousands of fighters and bombers, the Sarastro literally carries a small fleet in its massive hull.  Besides its formidable complement, its armament is enough to take on any battle group it may face, including hundreds of directed energy nodes and heavy rifles, missile cells, and the largest and most powerful rail cannons mounted on any Magisterial warship short of a super carrier.  Because of its arrant might, the Sarastro is commonly found in stand-alone system defense, heavy combat, and frontier patrol.  Typically commanded by one of ear admiral rank or higher, the Sarastro-class fleet carrier is the ultimate goal for many commanders in the Magisterial Navy.
