Description
It's about time lol Very time consuming work (about 200hrs) and yet---looks like it took 2 hrs on here. It is a grand looking piece in person---to me---it's a masterpiece for all the reasons I know with my own art. I have my own rules and reasons why this piece is that way to me.Of course it doesn't have to be that way to you.
This is like 4 paintings in one---the rotations are truly like other paintings---I'll post them.
Given the time it will come at you and at you and at you---you guys already know that.
Enjoy---so much time and work went into this---hope you like it

thanks again. Discovery can be turned any way to get a totally different painting. They all have names. Discovery Professor was awarded a DD
Then there's D-Biker bird (upside down of Discovery- Pipe Dreams) and Happy Face I think. None of my work is planned. I just start and go from there. I don't plan the rotations, they basically create themselves with me making many decisions. Very time consuming. I take as much time looking at them as I do actually creating them. I would guess about 100 hrs for Discovery. The more you look, the more the images will come out.
Their endless. The brain can't get it all in one viewing. It takes much time looking. Then things change. It's weird. Β A real drive you crazy is In The Depths, another turner, and others. Never planned on writing a book about this lol

Thank you,I appreciate that. Discovery took me about 80 to 100hrs. It's all improvised (all my work) They take me the artist on an adventure. None of them are planned.
That piece can be turned every way for a completely different view and characters. Discovery Proffessor(left turn I think) got a DD years ago.

Thas amazing!
I create too after my feelings totally, never plan to do so or so, just go after my feelings, how my mood is, donΒ΄t ever think about it, it comes naturally, what ever I create or what style i use too, like abstact, surreal, photograps, etc.. CanΒ΄t just do one thing...
I really like your work, itΒ΄s great

thank you very much for that nice compliment .
So we work the same. They create themselves. After I start a piece I sit back with my coffee and just look at it and the piece tells me where to go, and many times I have to decide which way to go depending on what the piece is telling me. I do much looking once it is started. Many times while sitting back, and looking, I'll see something I didn't see before and quickly put in the lines.
I'm going to go back to your gallery because that night I was trying to catch up to everything here on DA. Now I have more time.

Yes! It's some sort of word game! My nickname: ftourini means Irene who spits! And i have a site with animated avatars with the name "prasini xlepa" which means "green spit"! [link]

Well-worth the full-view, the details, as commented elsewhere, are amazing. As this downloads inch by inch onto my screen, I'm amazed with the complexity of the colour scheme - that you've, again and again, chosen colours for moments and then pulled them out in other areas, justifying and carrying through the piece. This is full of such moments of colour, of direction and style and the dimension in the whole and in the componant parts remind us that it's uniquely yours. Amazing work. Thanks for sharing - I'm sorry I didn't see it earlier.

no need to be sorry at all. I always---as you know---love the way you write about these pieces and how you target things that are correct. Yes---they do come out elsewhere---the unity with such a conglomeration of avenues if you will.
Always enjoy your comments

wow its intense, as always, i cannot keep up with how many paintings you produce, and always at this level of high detail
i saw a website you might like, as you seem to have a certain fascination with eyes, they certainly seem to figure a lot in your work.
Its not traditional art, more photomanipulations just of eyes, but you might like it anyway

why bthank you---you always say such positive and nice things about my work
You know---I believe I created about 15 new pieces this year---and yes---so much time involed. Discovery took over 200 hrs---it drained me. Hoever---I will go through that till that last inch and stroke to the canvas---I almost can't help it---it's so part of how I work. If I have to spend another day--days---etc---nomatter how frustrating sometimes---I have to do it a certain way.
Now---all the mirrors I can't take credit for much time on those since they are mirroring my work---work that was done---but not for seperatly creating all these pievces along with the original stand alone---which that in itself---4 good views---is enough right there---but all the ad ons is no time really---so I don't creat all that many stand alone pieces in a year---I thought I was one of the more slower artists with that.
Again---thanks---and I added eyes-to-infinity to my friends list. Thanks for thinking of me with that---that was sweet of you to do

I know how you feel My "Test of Time" is SOOO much better than the photo of it! It has metalic paint as well as textures in it
Unless your in front of it you can NOT really get the whole picture

Yes, the somewhat addled state of mind during the dream process. Everything you thought you knew has been turned upside down. Yet there are still vestiges of life and humor ever present. Perhaps a spiritual journey is indicated here?

You're very welcome. It's interesting how much I can see in your art...it may not be what you intended for people to see, but I have an odd view of the world anyway. I'm glad at least part of my vision aligns with yours in this particular work!

I already told you this many times before but how i wish i could see your work in real life instead of on this screen cause I feel it's not giving it the justice it diserves, your work is so detailed and wonderfully painted, you keep putting a smile on my face with it

Stepbeyond In reply to Digital-Kisses [2006-10-26 03:44:53 +0000 UTC]
oh how nice of you to say
Oh you're absolutely right---they don't look nearly as powerful and rich as it does in person. I'm oh so aware of that.
This should be viwed minimum 18X24 and a 20x30 even better.
One I get to the 4 panels---etc---they should be viewed about 3x4 feet---it doesn't even come to what you will see here---a playing card I call it---and most important---it loses the life it has.
Yes. Irene---they get killed here

oh how nice of you to say. You know---ur sweetness is getting even sweeter---forget the cup of coffee---you'd sweeten the whole pot with your lips---yes Irene---you would---awww. Maybe I should nickname you Sugar
How about "Sweet Digital Kisses"? orrrr "Sugar kisses"? Oh that one is pretty cool.
Oh Irene-- I'm exhausted now
lol

Two hundred hours?! Are you serious? Wow...
Please, illuminate me: why do you consider this one a masterpiece? I'm most curious.
π: 0 β©: 1
Stepbeyond In reply to Tibby-Kitty [2006-10-26 05:18:46 +0000 UTC]
ok---because it looks like it does---I know---that sounds wierd---but it is awesome in person. 2nd---it truly has 4 paintings in it. Complete---natural---like that was the normal position any way you view it.
#3 the mirrors (that will be coming) are absolutely breathtaking---well not on here lol
So---it's a stand alone piece with near perfect rotations---and mirrors like it was planned that way---it wasn't.
So---this one piece is a whole series that looks so good in all versions and rotations. That's a perfect situation for my style.
So---you understand why I feel this way? To me---it's the best work I've ever done. I'm not saying it will be everyones favorite of my work---I'm saying the way I look at it---and the single stand alone Discovery is really something to look at in person.
Now---what do you think you little kitty-witty

Tibby-Kitty In reply to Stepbeyond [2006-11-02 00:13:53 +0000 UTC]
Oh, so I see. I understand why you like this one so much.
If I had put that much time and effort into one of my pieces I'd either love it to death or hate it... depends.

Stepbeyond In reply to Tibby-Kitty [2006-11-02 05:51:15 +0000 UTC]
lol--yes you're right. You can love it or go the other way and end up hating it. I enjoyed this despite the work and time. Others---I really wanted to throw one or 2 in a fireplace Of course my patience held out and they are really good---but gave me those moments of total frustration
