Greetings my friend,
Superlative. The stark contrast and lighting with miminal colour are most effective.
Best regards,
Michael C. Turner

Oh excellent! It gives me the chills just to look at it, it could have been a concept piece for "Who Goes There?" looking at it.

Thanks!
(Speaking of "Who Goes There?" - I just saw the recent "The Thing". Ugh...
Lighting has to be quite bad for me to become conscious of it while I'm watching a movie. The other aspects of the film were no better. I went back and reread the short story, and wondered "why didn't they just do this?")

Yay, this is so cool, very 'brrr'. Nice custom shapes you've used.

Thanks! You wouldn't believe the source of the shape I used for this, although I can give you a hint: it is another painting I've posted on DA. But it's impossible to recognize due to all the warping and transforms done to the shape.

Beautiful! It brings to mind one of my stories, "Frozen", where ice is mined to provide half the galaxy with pure water. This awesome image really inspires me.

Thanks very much!
I can imagine that water would be a precious resource to space faring people - more valuable than oil, perhaps...

Neat quality of light and ambient blues. It feels perfectly cold!.... but couldn't you have waited until Summer to publish this so you could do us all an energy-saving favor?
Well.... I guess you could dedicate it to your friend in Australia
