This didn't turn out exactly the way I wanted, but at the same time I think it looks cooler that what I had imagined. I really learned a lot by experimenting with all these different colors. On to next piece!Inspired by Messier 17
Painted with the programs Photoshop and Sai.
(I get asked this a lot, yes I painted it from scratch. Base texture and stars with Photoshop. Lots of detailing with Sai. No I did not put any shapes in here on purpose.)

Fascinating. I like the depth of the image - not just flat space but mass and powerful cosmic environment.
Wonderful use of strong but not too aggressive colors. Gives the whole image kinda of a mystic feel.
