This is Hiruma Teri of the Crab, btw. My Crab deck is still backed in Hida Kuroda (One Final March) on one side and Hida on the other. Unicorn has Utaku Pantene on one side and Shinjo on the other. And when I remember to use a playmat, it's Hedonism Emporium.

Actually, I keep track of how long every painting takes me. (Part of the business of art.) This one was just over fourteen hours. Actually kind of surprises me, too. I'm not usually quite so fast.

Sorry it took me so very long to get back to you!
The inspiration comes from all around. History, art, stories. And I try and do as much research as I can before I start a painting, but since I have pretty harsh deadlines most of the time, that's usually about a half an hour on Google image search and Wikipedia.
