Yes, those are the coils of Nicol Bolas. Closing in to capture her entirely. I didn't want it to be too obvious. I wanted the presence of Bolas to be understated, with just hints as to what is going on.

I read Doug Beyer's article about some of Alara Reborn's most infamous heretics (Jund Hackblade, Rhox Brute, etc.). But it's her story that haunts me on some nights. It's her tears I'm drawn to, the infinite grief on her face, bending to a monster like Nicol Bolas.

Simply stunning. The art of the actual card isn't detailed enough to see the tears running down her face, but here you can truly see and feel the anguish she expresses. Furthermore, I like how her shattered sigils seem to represent what will soon become of her. That detail just adds to the emotional impact of the piece.
Of course, there are many other details I could address that make this artwork beautiful, but then this message would get too long. XD;; But I digress. You're truly a wonderful artist.
