Of the three environment concepts you posted I like this one best. Because it def' oozes an underlying (pun intended mystery.

Nice design, interesting how the sky is all bright but the ruins give off this dark gloomy feeling.

Who's the character standing there?

Thank you
He's the main character, he has a pretty awesome suit design. Check out the 3d model here:

Yeah it's excellent. Did they commission you for this or was this just something you threw together?

Regardless good job.

I hope my concept art gets to be that good some day.

I'm part of the development team for WarCry so I'll be doing a lot more of this type of artwork.

Keep at it my friend and never talk down about your work. There's always another level of excellence. Even the guys in the mainstream doing these insanely awesome pieces for games and movies, there's always another level for them.

If you tend to learn more visually, what helps me is observing other artist's work and taking notice of their brush strokes, tones and color usage and always use it as a reference. I highly recommend using references for your work, until you're at a level where you don't need them. Art comes from some place, even the artworks that look totally original and unique, something inspired them to create it. Observe and remember and keep practicing as much as you can. Heck I'm still practicing as much as I can to better myself and will continue to do so for the rest of my life.

It's too easy to get frustrated because we want things to happen quickly in this world, but focus on small steps and keep at it and you'll see yourself progressing with each piece.

Thanks again

Thanks. I feel a lot better. I'll keep working on it. I really only got serious about drawing last August. I think I'm making steady progress.

Thanks for the inspiring words Steve.
