This is a recent commission I did for a SWAT unit in Harvey County, KS. This art will be going on the back of a T-shirt for a 20 year anniversary and also honoring a fallen comrade. The man with the angelical presence was shot and killed during a hostage rescue.The guys in front of him are his unit, when they made the request for me to do this artwork they didn't want what we normally see SWAT doing with guns aimed and ready for action but more so about the guys behind the guns. They were pretty specific on how they wanted the artwork so a few revisions were made during the making of this.
They wanted an illustration showing their fallen comrade in a way that he was still watching out for them. The reason he has a smile on his face is because he was always known to be smiling , even while training. The OD green do rag was his trademark as well. I have a lot of respect for these guys, they're the ones putting their lives on the line to save the innocent.

Thank you, yeah it was nice doing this one because the shirts aren't even made yet and it's already affected the ones close to the fallen officer. To me that's what it's all about when the things we do affect someone in a positive way.
