Description
I made this after noticing some very strong similarites between the Sayian Saga (1st part Raditz) and Godzilla vs. Spacegodzilla. The basic plot is an evil brother (Spacegodzilla and Raditz) come to Earth intendint to rule it and take the hero's (Godzilla and Goku) son (Baby Godzilla and Gohan). The hero teams up with an ally that was inteded to destroy them (M.O.G.U.E.R.A and Piccolo). They fight to get the hero's son back and succeed in doing that, but the hero (Goku) and the ally (M.O.G.U.E.R.A) looses their life in the process. Mothra was put in there due to fanfiction reasons. I do plan on continuing with Angurius/Krillin, Rodan/Yamcha and so on. I'm willing to take any suggestions. If you add this to your favorites, please comment on it first. Thanks.Related content

That's seems really ironic. Then again, I've been hearing that Super is taking inspirations from other pieces of work. I mean, just look at this:images-cdn.9gag.com/photo/aq21β¦ . Β It's extremely similar to the Backyardigans, though it's probably unintentional. So, one could make the argument that Monster X and Frieza inspired each other.Β

Now that picture was down right awesome in a funny, way to go to make something so childish into muscular badasses lol.
I see Dragon ball's creator puts a lot of influences, but Beerus was actually based on one the author's cats he had or still has.
But dragon ball has been doing that ever since it was created, it takes Kaiju, a superman origin, Riddley Scott's Alien, Journey to the west. Basically Dragon ball knows how to make easter eggs, refersnces and cameos hidden in plain sight.
Though Frieza's was created before Monster X, its the thought that Toho and The author actually being inspired by each other's work.
For example:
Burning Godzilla (Kaioken)
Super Godzilla (Super Saiyan)
Atomic ray (Kamehameha wave)
The most obvious ones of course but still the first two are greatly inspired I think by Dragon ball, with the sole exception of the Kamehameha wave which I would think is inspired by Godzilla's Atomic ray.

I do know of the Journey to the West influence, and the Superman one as well, but those other ones didn't seem as obvious as those two. I have heard that Japan's creators do take inspiration from each other's work. The creator of Sonic took a lot of inspiration from DBZ, which is okay since he's good friends with Toriyama.

The Superman influence is hoe Goku was sent to Earth while his planet Vegeta was being destroyed, very similar to Superman's Krypton.

Exactly. Which is why the two characters are compared so often.

And then we get into the debates of whose stronger than who, and how one or the other would just kill each other, when I'm sitting here saying "Who cares?"
I like both, Goku is a self made man who will push his own limits to become the strongest, as to Superman whose already the strongest but tries to live like a normal person when not wearing the cape.

That's pretty much my thoughts on it, and I think that's a lot of fans' thoughts on it as well. Especially Death Battle, who had to do two episodes on the fight.

And both times Superman won, which I'm ok with, Superman may have a very well developed story character and longer lasting legacy but Goku has the charm.
I see Dragon Ball is proof that series doesn't need any kind of story or anything cannon to actually be a good series.

Exactly how I'd put it. Sometimes, I just wish Toriyama or DC would comment on the fight so fans would stop debating it.

Think of it how Zack Synder is with Batman vs Superman Dawn of justice, he wants fans to choose a side, where does your loyalty lie kind of thing.
Are you loyal to the first superhero? Or are you Loyal to the man who can break any limit he faces?
Though people take it too far, but that's a choice that they make.

SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to Dragoritus [2016-03-16 00:38:15 +0000 UTC]
True. Marvel's doing the same thing with Civil War, so it's going to continue. Granted, both that and Dawn of Justice are for films, but it make sense why they're doing that. Too bad we'll never get a Superman vs. Goku film, that way we could get a conclusion to the debate. I know that wouldn't end it, but it'd be away for the creators to give their opinions on it.

Yeah but seeing that superman's villains outnumber some certainly outmatch Goku's villains.
And that superman can survive in space yeah I don't see why would.

SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to Dragoritus [2016-03-16 19:11:19 +0000 UTC]
True. At best, you could maybe have them team up against Frieza who's working with either Lex, Brainiac or Darkseid.

Darkseid seems to be the most likely but all those could possibly match up to Doomsday.

SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to Dragoritus [2016-03-18 13:54:00 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. In fact, in most team up suggestions I've seen, it's always Superman and Goku vs. Doomsday and Broly.

Dragoritus In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2016-03-18 18:32:34 +0000 UTC]
Seeing that he wasn't originally in the manga or the original anime series I would don't count him as a cannon character, and also seeing him in his later movies Broly second coming and Bio-Brody also the Dragon balls can'r bring someone back after a certain amount of time.
Broly in my opinion is overrated, I mean he was great for that first film he was in and that's about it, the second film felt unnecessary with him only saying one word "KAKAROT! KAKAROT!"
It got annoying and it felt sad that he was milked to death and I won't even start with Bio-Brody because that's when I saw that his character was being milked to death.Β
I think if he were to return he would have to be from universe 6 as a completely new Broly fresh start I would chose to make him an ally to Goku or a friendly rivalry between him Goku, and Vegeta.Β

SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to Dragoritus [2016-03-18 19:26:17 +0000 UTC]
Pretty much my thoughts on him. Really, the only reason he's brought up in the team up is because he's apparently the equivalent to Doomsday. Beyond being strong, near mindless monsters, I don't see anything else they have in common.
π: 0 β©: 1
Dragoritus In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2016-03-18 20:27:13 +0000 UTC]
Well they're both cloned Doomsday more so to the point he would always come back.
π: 0 β©: 1
SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to Dragoritus [2016-03-18 21:52:48 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, there's that too. Though, it seems like Doomsday will be coming back. Broly, most likely not.
π: 0 β©: 1
Dragoritus In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2016-03-18 22:13:45 +0000 UTC]
Well it's not everyday that Superman gets killed randomly by a genocidal monster that won't stay dead. And that's something really hard to do even in the DC universe, Doomsday was the first and I think maybe not the only villain to have killed Superman.
π: 0 β©: 1
SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to Dragoritus [2016-03-19 00:31:42 +0000 UTC]
True. Some have gotten close, but Doomsday is the only one to ever really get the job done. Doubt that'll happen in Dawn of Justice, but the animated film already did it decently enough, though.Β
π: 0 β©: 1
Dragoritus In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2016-03-19 06:24:08 +0000 UTC]
And apparently in the comic he did much more than just killing superman.
Fighting Darksied and justice league at different times of course.
π: 0 β©: 1
SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to Dragoritus [2016-03-19 13:12:28 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I remember seeing the panel where he took on Darkseid. Don't think Broly ever took on a being that strong, so Doomsday might be more powerful than him in that sense.
π: 0 β©: 1
Dragoritus In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2016-03-19 13:17:09 +0000 UTC]
and remember is Broly was able to defeat Doomsday he would just return and be immune to what killed him last, effectively making him the ultimate weapon.
π: 0 β©: 1
SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to Dragoritus [2016-03-19 16:36:11 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. So, when you get down to it, putting Doomsday against anyone is pretty pointless seeing as how he'll just come back immune to whatever they can throw at him.
π: 0 β©: 1
Dragoritus In reply to SteveIrwinFan96 [2016-03-19 16:45:56 +0000 UTC]
Pretty much however I in my opinion that there are certain characters may they be from DC or not can actually kill Doomsday permanently. Ghost Rider's Pendence stare burns the soul with the amount of sins that one has committed, then there's Darksider's Death who from what I have been led to believe can destroy a soul with his harvester Scythe.
So maybe you would need to take the very life force to end Doomsday permanently.
π: 0 β©: 1
SteveIrwinFan96 In reply to Dragoritus [2016-03-20 03:12:59 +0000 UTC]
That's the only way I'd see it ending him for good. Sad thing is, I don't think anyone in DC possess that kind of power.

DC was waiting for the right time to strike when the actors for the Avengers begin to grow tired of their positions effectively making Marvel worry for their cinematic universe and resort to comedy.
But now DC's Batman vs Superman Dawn of justice is drawing near, the two greatest heroes that had ever been created, one an Ordinary man of the night, the other a space alien that is weakened from Red solar radiation Magic and Kryptonite.Β
DC picked the best time to start their cinematic universe, and to start it the kick off with Batman vs Superman, the world's two oldest heroes facing off.Β
Like what Ken Watanabe said "Let them fight..."Β
