One of the bigest challenges was actually the turrets. While I'd have loved to use round pieces for a smoother appearance there were none that were the right size, and those that were close left no way of mounting the guns. The advantage of doing it this way was they can all be rotated.Related content

This is really great too! After just doing a 3D version of this ship myself, it’s impressive to see how much accuracy you can get with the details in Lego. The supports for the platform thingies, the lights and even those 3 dangly-down things at the front.

I’m still amazed at what colours there are now in Lego. When I first started with it as a kid in the 1980s, I don’t think they even have green blocks. Apart from land and trees. Now there’s pink and beige and all sorts. It’s really cool. You sure got creative with what parts you did use.
