Description
This is my first attempt at the Delphinus from the awesome Dreamcast game Skies of Arcadia (Eternal Arcadia if you prefer). It was mostly a product of limited source material, but even in light of finding a nice plan view it's not bad. I have never played with Lego, but when I see that some people can create these kind of things it's like o_O Omg amazing.
I am curious if it was difficult to find images of the Delphinus in order to use them as reference and make this

That was probably the biggest challenge, mostly Google searches and scouring fan sites. At one point I just booted up the game and entered a ship battle so it kept sweeping past the camera from a variety of angles.
Finally finding a full plan projection of the in-game model (once again, on a fan site) was what allowed me to make my more recent version so much more accurate ( stevolteon.deviantart.com/art/… ).

I can imagine. When I draw fan mangas based on videogames, I use to do the same, pausing the game sometimes in order to draw some backgrounds, because there is not enough material in the Internet.

Thanks. To be honest I don't have much, with projects like this I design them on MLCAD and then buy only the pieces I need. The downside is the real version can be kind of fragile!

Exactly, in fact it was the arrival of the new curved pieces (among others) which prompted me to take a shot at the Delphinus. And comparing this to my second attempt shows just how much further the curved elements have come since!

The program I used to originally design it (MLCAD) allows you to create instructions just like official Lego ones, so it'd be pretty easy to do. If I can figure out a sensible way of uploading them I will.

I forgot to mention; on the old SoAWorld homepage, there's a list on "How to know you're a Skies of Arcadia"-nerd. Building the Delphinus out of lego was one of the points XD.

i would spend any amount of money for lego skies of arcadia sets. that's a great mini delphinus. i'd love to see what you could make with unlimited lego pieces at your disposal!

Still trying to pull the parts together for the second. It'll definitely work and on the plus side I don't have to resort to Dark Blue but it just feels a bit... un-Lego-y. Then all I need to figure out is the anchors.
