Description
About two years ago, I built a starship out of legos. It measured 2'8" long, and it was my pride and joy. I doubt I've ever been so proud of something I've designed. Looking back, it wasn't that amazing, though I did model it with my signature anal attention to detail (the entire interior, complete with weapons locker, bathroom w/shower, and a mess hall/galley, was completely created and populated with minifigs). It was the first ship from my sci-fi universe I ever attempted to model, draw, or craft.
So it started me onto modeling, ultimately. And though it wasn't the coolest thing on the planet, it was still pretty freakin cool, in my not-so-humble opinion, and I'm still proud of the nerdy little thing.
A full series of pics can be found here: [link]
I classified it a destroyer on the page, because it sounded better, but I privately classified it a corvette. When I later added it to my list of starship classes, I doubled its official length to make it even match the size of a corvette.

Looked through that collection of shots. Gotta say, that's absolutely awesome. You should totally be a designer for Lego, start up a whole Spaceship line. How badass would that be.

Dude, I've never seen anything like that made from LEGO. That's a brilliant model!

Yeah, I have to say that no self-respecting architect would make the bridge that large, especially on a combat ship. You DON'T want your enemy knowing where your vitals are...
Otherwise, it's pretty cool.

Exactly, but thank you.

Thanks! Personally, I think the bridge is WAY too big for the size of the main ship, but like I said I didn't have enough legos to do what I wanted.

Well, a solution could be to lower the height of the bridge, so it is just above the turret immediately in front of it. Maybe switch the positions of the turrets, placing the heavier one in front and the lighter one in the back. But that's just me.

Problem with that is that it would remove the entirety of the second floor (which you can see in the interior pics, see the link) and force me the lengthen the ship. Then the ship would be OBSCENLY skinny for its length and width.
The real solution would be to have twice as many legos, and thus the ability to reinforce the floor and ceiling of the lower floor, thus making the whole ship an apropriate bulk.

Yes sir. The solution is more construction material. Nevertheless it is still a great design.
