Description

I'd write a huge rant on this subject, but firstly, my English isn't good enough for it, and secondly, I feel sleepy.

I'll just say that I actually like the animation style, and I don't care about how cheap it is. And I like the show in general.

This stamp is "dedicated" mostly to the YouTube users who... ahem... shared their opinions on the animation.

EDIT: the art style and animation are improved in the 2nd Season. check it out.

2023 EDIT: disabling comments because I don't care about this. I'll just say I didn't really watch the 2014 series much and at this point I'm just kinda "eh" about watching it. Also Flash died in 2020 so they must be using Animate or something else now. Original shorts are better in terms of animation and audio design, but only a couple of recently released shorts tried to replicate that.

Maybe Flash animation is not the main matter, I think the matter was the tweened animation, that kind of animation isn't so fluid like the frame by frame animation. Plus some characters used to deform and end up with weird looking anatomy
But anyways, I used to enjoy that show (and the old one too).
A yeah, they improved the animation in the second season.
But at least, the characters desings are closer to the classic show than tales, and Tom's iconic screams are heard.
And trust me, 1975 show, Comedy show and Gene Deitch era are worse than the 2014 show

Btw, I come from the future, a better show has come out: Tom & Jerry special shorts

(but only lasted 2 episodes RIP )

I agree with how not all flash animation is bad, like with MLP and Early Star Vs. The forces of evil (Before they turned to hand-drawn)

But the flash animation used in Tom and Jerry show ITSELF is actually not that bad, in fact, It's pretty good, HOWEVER, the SLAPSTICK in the show isn't good.

The Slapstick is way too flowy to see the characters feel pain, so it isn't as funny. It's not that Flowy animation is bad, it's just bad with a show that's main feature is it's slapstick

I love this show. I'm glad that it got a second season with the new animation It's not that bad.

I have to agree with the others in saying that the flash animation style is a major flaw of the new show, everything is just too flat, there is no depth to the artwork and backgrounds in the new tom and jerry, its a major downgrade when compared to tom and jerry tales, the recent movies, and the other previous incarnations.

but despite that its not a bad show.

Well, TV show standarts today aren't like those in the early 2000's and beyond. People try to make everything as cheap as possible. If Tom and Jerry was hand-drawn today, it would probably have limited animation, or look very different from the original, which wouldn't be good, or the episodes would be shorter or there would be less of them. Thank God they didn't make it look like something created by Seth McFarlane, that would be a plain nightmare.

I'm not a big fan of this style is either, but it still looks way better than the 1975 and the 1980 shows and Gene Deitch's shorts.

The animation is pretty cheap, but I like the "no outline" take on the characters. My biggest problems with the show is the mediocre humor and stock royalty-free-esque sound effects.

When did I mention slapstick in the description of this stamp? I actually try to defend the animation, I prefer hand-drawn animation though, but thank goodness they didn't make Tom and Jerry in CGI live-action - now that would be a catastrophe!

TheiCarlyAngel In reply to Stinkek [2014-12-04 21:44:45 +0000 UTC]

No, Flash is it's own program. I have Flash in fact, I just don't animate with it. Flash is what you see with the new Tom and Jerry Show, My Little Pony, Littlest Pet Shop, Phineas and Ferb, and etc.

Ah, Renegade Animation. Even if the Flash animation quality is mediocre, it's been consistently mediocre, they know what they're doing and I can tell that they're trying. Unlike competitor Titmouse, which went from great Flash animation(Black Dynamite) to awful Flash animation(Breadwinners). Titmouse, it's usually the other way around.

"Animated in Flash!" is a really bad reason to hate something. It's kind of like hating someone just because they were born in X Country.

What are you saying? A few out-of-context bible quotes won't turn someone to religion. If anything, it might drive them away because the quotes might make God and Jesus look horrible when they're out-of-context. I don't want to argue, I'm just offering a different perspective for if you want to get people into Christianity, and that perspective is: Have who you're trying to convince read the book themselves instead of saying out-of-context quotes. If it fails anyway, it's best if you and he agree to disagree.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FlintARTStudio In reply to Torchu325 [2016-05-16 02:06:35 +0000 UTC]

It wasn't out of context. Based on the previous comment made about religion, I felt needed to post that to turn people to the true light. Since you mention the "book", then I recommend the whole book of John, especially John 3 and John 6.

To edit my post, I meant the four Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 0

Torchu325 In reply to FlintARTStudio [2016-05-16 02:45:54 +0000 UTC]

There is no true light. We all have our own ways. Don't pester anyone to join your religion. Out of context or not, the quotes don't matter. If you're a good person, who cares?

But that's what your quote source is. A book. It will always be a book and nothing more, no matter what.

FlintARTStudio In reply to Torchu325 [2016-05-16 02:56:22 +0000 UTC]

A good person without Jesus Christ in one's life doesn't mean eternal salvation, which is why I posted that first verse. We are all still trapped in sin, no matter how many good deeds we do, unless we accept and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I won't force you on this, I have no control of that. Only God can draw people to Jesus.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Torchu325 In reply to FlintARTStudio [2016-05-16 03:11:46 +0000 UTC]

I'm not trying to say that.

You can believe in Jesus and still find past and even present sinning.

Glad you aren't pressuring anyone to join.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FlintARTStudio In reply to Torchu325 [2016-05-16 03:33:23 +0000 UTC]

That's why Jesus came to take away our sins, past, present, and future ones. We by nature are born sinners, and the only way to be redeemed from it is through belief in Jesus. He will forgive us as long as we confess them.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Torchu325 In reply to FlintARTStudio [2016-05-16 03:51:50 +0000 UTC]

So if you believe in Jesus, you could rob a bank and kill innocent witnesses without being called or considered a sinner?

Honestly, the only reason religion came into the conversation in the first place was because I said that judging someone solely on their interests and beliefs (including stance on religion) is stupid.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FlintARTStudio In reply to Torchu325 [2016-05-16 04:41:34 +0000 UTC]

No, a person cannot go on sinning like that after believing because God's seed remains on them.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Torchu325 In reply to FlintARTStudio [2016-05-16 04:53:51 +0000 UTC]

Thanks for clarifying. The way your worded it made it sound a bit like one could get get away with anything if they were Christian to me.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FlintARTStudio In reply to Torchu325 [2016-05-16 05:08:46 +0000 UTC]

Definitely not. Once a person believes, he/she can't just do anything he/she wants. A person would have to submit to God's Law afterwards and not try to live like the rest of the world does.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Torchu325 In reply to FlintARTStudio [2016-05-16 05:15:27 +0000 UTC]

Look. I'm glad you aren't pressuring anyone to join, but convincing doesn't always work either. When that's the case, it's always best to accept it and move on.

VampireQueenEffeffia In reply to Torchu325 [2014-10-27 23:50:37 +0000 UTC]

And I love how that single thing can change someone's mind so quickly. It seems like some people can be best of friends with another person, but as soon as they find out "Born in X Country/Observes X Religion" [or animated in Flash, as is the stamp's case] it's like, "NOOOOOOO IT'S BAD NOW!"

I've never used Flash, but a lot of the complaints about it are the same: It's very obvious to notice and doesn't look very good when the animator uses simple shapes. I've heard great things about Flash. It can make games, it can do animation fairly easily, and while you do have to pay for it, it's inexpensive. However, it only looks good, from what I've heard, when using complicated shapes.

My only dislike about this new version's animation is more of the lineless style it's drawn in, things blend in with each other too easily, and I can't catch little 'details' like I have in past incarnations...Otherwise, a lot of popular shows are flash animation (Take Fairly OddParents, for example.) so I don't care about that, and it's still very slapstick.
