EDIT:PLEASE READ THE COMMENTS AS WELL!!! There are a lot of good suggestions from other crusaders on how to crush the bug we call art thieves.
I was recently asked by a new member of #Doombringers how to report images.
Instead of going into the details, I thought I would make a tutorial on how to do it for people new to deviantART who are looking to make it a better place for everyone else.
This tutorial goes over just how to report for theft, but as you can see, there are many different things on deviantART that need reporting.
If you need any help with other categories to report, please do not hesitate to ask.
If you also need to find a link to another place a deviation is posted, use TinEye to find other places that it could be posted, that way deviantART will delete the offending images.

There should be "report this artist" button on each user's page. I just ran across one who's entire gallery is just "re-colored" stolen art - he pastes the same description on every piece shamelessly stating as much, with no credits whatsoever and comments always closed.

What a shit site. It's impossible to report people for art theft now. If you try to report, it basically boils down to "the real artist must report it for themselves". Yeah, good luck on that when most artist are too good to socialize with their fans or don't even go to DeviantArt.

its really sad when sites like Inkbunny and FA got a better reporting system then the " Largest art community bla bla bla"Β
like i reported a stolen artwork on IB and the stolen work was taken down in less than 24 hours. the admins there are great and responsive. here on DA I swear its ran by a bunch of Robots. kinda like Youtube is now

Is it possible to report a user and not just one of their submissions? I have come across a user who posts nearly nothing but stolen art from licenced tv-shows. I tried to send them a note, explaining that it was against the guidelines and kindly saying that they had to take it down, but they continue to post such images, as I see them in the "new" section and they have blocked me without responding to my note so I can't access their page.Β

The dude just friggin put their crap tier watermark over the art (and did a shit job of erasing hair), and since I can't speak moonrunes I can't even tell the artist on pixiv that someone's stealing their art

Someone needs to make note this report tutorial is from 2011 and the system has changed since then
3rd party DMCA reports are not allowed (I think this was done to prevent bogus reports and misunderstandings?)
The best way to deal with a thief is put it out there that user is one with proof (links to original images), make journals (do not go to the forums as call out threads are not allowed). Do not threaten people and spamming is not always helpful, warning others such as someone looking to commission a thief, however is a good idea.
In order to actually take care of a thief you're going to need to find the original artist and direct them to the stolen work, DAs policy information to the DMCA request. A person does not need a DA account to file a DMCA.Β
Sometimes though, once a thief learns the jig is up (the artist was or will be contacted and/or pretty much everyone knows) they have a tendency to take the work down and deactivate (at least for a while).

I can't report them because the "Submit report" button is greyed out and won't function.
If someone looks at there page and can find some of the original artists, that would be very helpful.
I plan to migrate from dA at this point, because this is just ridiculous.

Seriously though, the whole idea of reporting is to alert admins where to do their job, since they have the power to resolve issues then and there. Instead this seems like they're saying "well you guys can just solve your problems on your own lol."

I reported some recolors and it took two months to receive a note from staff saying they've been deleted. I couldn't help but chuckle at "0 tickets resolved today" when looking through the FAQ.

Ridiculous. Yet there's enough time to send me notifications to greet new people and visit Project Comment to make comments. Which in general I wouldn't mind, but at least get art thieves out of the site. I don't know what they technicalities are, but I think they could set up a team of investigators or something to help with it. Especially if they aren't getting anything done at the moment.

A user by the name of SHADIKAL15 has been stealing Undertale art from amazing Tumblr artists, but is /not/ crediting them at all.
They recolor these pieces of beautiful artwork in a way to correspond to their AU "Underhell" and "Underhell Sans". It's ironic because they full well know recoloring is terrible but thinks it's okay because "everyone"' does it.
It's absolutely horrible, art thieves are the lowest of the low.

Hopefully this works, when I sent a trouble ticket/help ticket, they did nothing for a month and then sent me a link to the DMCA form, but I'm not filling out PRIVATE and personal info just so I won't be stolen from.

This "user" has stolen art from countless artists without so much as crediting any of them, and all to promote their own business which is kind of sickening. If someone could help me take them down I'd be very appreciative.
