Description

Context: My friend and I are creating a bunch of horse designs for a project we’re working on. Idk how much of it will be on DA but I can say you probably haven’t seen the last of these horses LOL.

I finally got the chance to continue these horse references! Sadly, I’m stuck with painting because my hands are too shaky to do lineart right now. Perks of having a chronic illness. XD I have one more of my designs to go after this gal. Then I move on to my friend’s designs! I really can’t wait to draw them.

And may I just say…

SOOTY PALOMINOS!!! I only really learned about the ‘sooty’ trait in horse genetics relatively recently (about a year ago), and I wanted to base a horse character off the color.

Meet Willow! She’s a true trail companion and a reliable ride with the right person.

Sex: Mare

Color: Sooty palomino

Eye color: Brown

Likes: Long rides, rolling in mud, the security of her herd

Dislikes: Inconsistency, being away from other horses

Personality: She is steady yet energetic. She may spook but she will recover quickly. She is an endurance horse to the bone and she can be quite fast.

Be sure to check out their page because they have a brush for almost anything! Also thanks to Ackerley for the Dappling Brush pack! And to Anonymous-Shrew for Shrew’s Guide to Dapple Greys and for recommending Ackerley’s brushes! Even though the guide was intended for grey horses I found it was also true when determining where to dapple horses with the sooty or silver dapple trait!
