All the block lines of unbroken blocks make my eyes spin . I wonder how it'd look if you did more what you did in the background, with just the hints at the corners? I think this is looking great though.

That was def something I struggled with, how much griding to put in, and it may be that to push it more firmly towards the minecraft blockyness that I overdid it a bit :S
