Description
One of the first frames made on my first trip to Seattle. The bus in the background was moving along, it was almost an afterthought, as I read what the advertisement said through the finder.Prints available - 8x10 (2inch border) - $40
(signed on back - edition of 25)
Please send note for more info!
Many thanks to everyone who viewed this photo, and to the incredibly talented Street CV, Mary, who honors me with a DD!

Yeah.. one of them was almost us, but they hit someone else instead. I felt bad for the guy, his car was destroyed, and he most likely had internal injury

Particularly poignant today when a bus driver was shot downtown, likely along this same street.

It's one of those perfect coincidences. And it looks like that medic is aware of what just happened. That had to be surreal for her!

Which proves she's an excellent medic, because I'm pretty sure I would've gotten distracted by that sign. (Best to leave me in the library, I think. )

Very nice photo.
I used to work as a Paramedic with that same company AMR here in San Antonio, Texas before I became a Firefighter.
Worked with a lot of great people.

This is a great picture. Not only does the bus make the shot what it is, but it captures a scene which plays out many times a day around the country-hardworking Emergency Medical Services personnel, in this case from American Medical Response, helping those in distress. But it could be anywhere, and any ambulance crew-working hard toΒ help others. While based on the stance of the medics this may not be a life-threatening emergency, the crew is prepared to save a life if needed.
Β I also find it amusing that hospitals are advertising on buses.Β In some parts of the US, medics call their rigs "buses" asΒ many of the patients calling an ambulance do not need medical care on the way to the hospital. They call an ambulance for a cold or sore throat or minor cut that they could care for themselves at home with medicine and supplies available from nearly every store, but instead choose to use the more expensive option of the hospital, and then use the ambulance instead of a bus thinking it will get them seen more quickly. Many of the people using an ambulance could ride that or any other bus to the hospital and save several hundred dollars on the cost of the trip, as well as not tying up an ambulance that could be responding to a serious accident, stroke
or heart attack. I am not sure what is going on with this particular patient, but I going off of experience, I believe that this bus might be a better choice for those going to the hospitalin my humble opinion
