Description Westeros re-imagined as a star system. Part of a little on-off side project I'm working on.

Sigils were made using Wyrmshadow's custom shapes for PS.

Available for commissions in this style and others!

Edit: Hey guys, I finished a full map for the whole of the ASOIAF universe!

A Song of Ice and Fire as a Sci-fi? That actually sounds surprisingly awesome.

A lot of things are missing from the map, though. Is the Vale you have here as a moon of 'Reach' supposed to be the Vale of Arryn? Isn't that supposed to be farther north?

Oldtown, I suppose, could simply be a city on 'Reach' (or should that be Dorne?). Same with Highgarden.

But what about the island of Tarth? The Lannister lands (Casterly Rock, Lannisport)? The Fingers? Bear Island? And King's Landing, even if just a city, should still be present in some way.

Still, awesome map; even more awesome idea.

Thanks. Given the change in setting I had to improvise to allow for a representation of - at least - most of the important larger locales. That means smaller places - Tarth, Bear Island, et. al. - would be regions and/or settlements on the larger planets. As for the Vale, I suppose it and Dragonstone could just as well orbit Trident. However, due to the planetary bodies I'm somewhat restricted in having each and every major place be its own moon and/or planet. The Lannister's lands would be WESTRON.

"THIS IS NOT A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE IN SPACE, IT IS MUCH MORE SOPHISTICATED."

Makes me wonder what Essos is... A very close solar system perhaps?

That's my idea, yes. In fact, I'm working on a star map adaption of the known world of A Song of Ice and Fire. Here's a very small cut-out preview of the Free Cities.

The Yuuzhan Vong were a badly written enemy that literally made no sense in the context of the Star Wars franchise. It was as if someone looked at the Mongols and the Aztecs, slapped them together, and threw in the Covenant from Halo for good measure. (In the first few books, they weren't this, but after Salvatore signed off things just got retarded.)

On WESTRON?^^

I had to cut back a bit on the naming conventions. For example, REACH works well enough for a planet's name, but it naturally would encompass The Reach as well as the Crownlands, with the Stormlands being lumped together with Dragonstone for the time being. Though they could just as well be placed back on Reach itself. It's a large M-class planet. Lot's of space there.

Ahh.
Though what's the purpose of the Twins?
Asteroid belts may not be entirely two-dimensional, but it's fairly easy to go over or under the ecliptic.

They are guarding lagrange points along the main inner system - outer system trade axis. Asteroid fields can be traversed, but it'd take you longer, is more hazardous and fuel-intensive, and the chance of pirates and other mishaps is larger.
